Bungie Says "goodbye" To Halo After Odst

I see now that they arent, but WTF BUNGIE at least do SOMETHING to explain the halo 3 ending... mean I already know when im 90 or whatever laying there on my death bed, my last request will be to have the halo 3 legendary ending explained to me, and when no one can, ill die a sad death......no but they are going to have to do something or angry halo 3 fans will eat everyone at the studio alive

Pretty sure "Halo" is done.. Bungies said it a lot.. They said halo 3 was the conclusion of the halo story arc blah blah blah... To me that doesn't mean the end of the series...

I mean let's face it, Halo refers to forerunner ring worlds and the main threat for the last three games, now that threat has potentially been ended (hopefully the destruction of the ark has rendered the remaining ones disabled) the Halo ringwords are really not important anymore..

My view is, the games are too successful, chief will be back, it just won't be called "halo".. It'll likely have to do with that planet at the end of halo 3.. Essentially I reckon they are going to use Master Chiefs popularity to launch their next series of first person shooters which will take place far away from our own galaxy and will be more or less a clean slate for them to start a new story, killing the repetitiveness of halo (which to be honest, I never had a problem with, I'd play 10 more halos) while still keeping chief and doing something fresh..

So yeah, I figure "halo" is over, but the story isnt.

Yeah, a remake of Marathon would be sweet. I've never played the games, I was too young to understand anything wen they came out, and I don't have a Mac.

From what I've heard though, it's still a great game series.

And it's okay in my books if they stop the Halo 3 plot. Far too many franchises have been tarnished by over-doing the whole thing.

I'm sorry, but you missenterprated EVERYTHING they said about the end of Halo. They didn't say it's the end of the Halo story, just the end of the Masterchief/ Cortana story arch. There were plenty of other people that had ties to the ringworlds than MC. There will more than likely be thousands of games about them.

I think the ending was supposedly the chief heading toward Onyx. Just specalations and some other bungie users that read the books believe the theory too.

If you recall on the ark, the Sentinals leaving The Ark were probably heading to Onyx because there was a mass amount of Sentinals attacking Onyx that came into the planet.

This is just my theory on the ending. Im sure there "may be" another Halo game..

Also (and this is irrelevant to the Ending of halo) does anyone know when Halo Chronicles is or even going to be released?

yeah im right there with you on remaking Marathon. But you dont need a mac to play it runs on both mac and pc (have to do a little work but it work really nice)

i dont think so. The ending was a flash back to marathon because the game referred "to a beast in the sky"

I think they should continue the Halo games a lil longer.

They can make a FPS when your a marine on harvest and battle the covenant for the first time, or start as a child being kidnapped and being transformed into a Spartan-II super soldier over a period of time.

I'm with Doom on this one, bring on Halo 4 OR if I'm lucky, my old nights of hammering away at Marathon will return. I think the ending of Halo 3 leads nicely into it. There's only 1 thing for sure, only Bungie holds these answers, we'll just have to hold our breath and wait after Halo 3: ODST.

I think Fall of Reach would be a better movie than a game, but that's just me.

all i can say because i havent read the new post yet. that bungie if you can recall had marathon verse after halo verse... or was it before i cant remember... but my idea is now the halo serise will maybe follow the arbiter and the elites dealing with the humans to destroy the last of the rings? makeing some myschef... and maybe finding other planets like onyx and haveing the planets come alive and start to rebuild and teach.. while causeing aheck of alot of destruction along the way.. maybe finding one planet with real forrunners on it and like onyx its a planet for sentinals... and hey maybe the forrunners just live underground in that mini planet in the bigger plannet... and they just never decided to leave?

but thats just my thoughts on how bungie might go... or they will start a whole new series that is just as good if not topping the bar on how they made halo... remember each game they made was bigger and better each time!
