My Journey began in September 2013, I overzealously thought I could get it done for Halloween that year HA!, come nearly 10 years later, a divorce, together with somebody new, with 6 kids between us and 7 moves it's not finished.

But my parent is amazing, and after a recent Halo night activity at a hockey game I was inspired with the drive to get this project back up off the ground and finally finished.

So here we'll go with what I was able to get done in about 2 weeks. My Goal was then to create a mother mold template so can build multiples and rotercoasting for a thin coated plastic.

Now going to Fiberglass the entire suit along with a fully 3d printer one that's already on the machines!

Photos soon to come :D

September 2013, so begins the assembly process of the Papercraft folds :D, so begins the obsession (did I mention, I have OCD and a bit of a perfectionist... ooops)

Then moved onto some "attempted and failed scalling" where I tried to make a second helmet for my youngest child...
Either I made it too small, or my kid has a really big head! (she was only 11 months at the time of the build)
I still love this design and will hopefully print resin or 3d print one for wearing in the future after i complete the first build of course.

Work took over and kids activities for a few weeks, which led me until first week of October to just get to the Chest piece, Wasn't a huge fan of this part but it was what I had at the time.
Can you believe I Actually still thought I could be done for Halloween HAHAHAHAHA

Of course, during the process there were multiple fittings to test how they worked prior to working on the next piece.
I was VERY Lucky that whoever had done this model (I wish i remembered :'( ) was the same height as I was, so I got away without having to do much/any scaling... which I learned, i suck at AH!

Back then, only had 3 kiddos, do you think they wouldn't want to try "Daddy super suit" on, as my Son called it.

I'm a strategic player, and a Sniper rifle was/is always my most dangerous weapon. Playing in a multiplayer LAN party game the most dreaded noise from my friends was always the woosh woosh of the sniper rifle zooming in followed by the quick bang of kill announcement.
One of my best friends even got me a WW2 UK Sniper award badge as a Christmas present once in memory of our gaming together.
My other best friend.... we called him the Sticky Monster ... IYKYK

I was really happy with the rifle, surprised this was all 100% cardstock, nothing to firm it up and hold the shape (Even the barrel was cardstock)
This is one piece that has gone missing :( still sad about that one, loved it.

Well, this is where my time was lost :( Family life went south after the posing photos and I didn't do the fiberglassing of the helmet and forearm until 2014. I went through a lot of depression and sadly the unfinished state of the project actually added to that depression. I just fiberglassed and painted the entire helmet having giving up on my ambitions to complete the build all together.
Thankfully never destroyed it, still having all the pieces sans sniper rifle in my garage hanging begging to be completed! ... And once the weather warms the Resin will flow! MEW hahha

Ok, have the bottom half of the helmet fully printed now. Little bit of painters tape to check alignment of the pieces and do a test fit.

Just squeezes on, thankfully my head won't be growing haha.

Now to print the top half!

Hi Carethfanura and welcome back to the fold!

Looks like you're on a good track again.

But, I did want to mention double posting. If it has been less than 24 hours and no one has commented, please edit your post rather than making a new one.

That makes sense. Was t
Just doing some progress catchups and was trying to keep the posts grouped roughly based on their completion timelines. Now that I'm actively working on it won't be doing that again.

Glad to be back though and finally getting this project through to completion :)

Dude, first of all, you've done amazing work so far! Pepekura and fibreglass is a LOT of work, and you should be proud of the progress you've made so far! Also, kudos to you for not tossing the suit. You've got quite the life story behind you suit, I'll be following this thread for sure to see where this build takes you. Good luck on completing your build spartan!

Thanks N8TEBB, that means a lot. I think I'm going to go fiberglass the bicep and shoulder pieces as I liked how those came out with the Pepekura and card stock assembly. May do that this week.

Currently the final piece for helmet came off the printer. A little (ok, a lot) of painters tape to check sizing, alignment and fit and bingo bango were set to go to phase 2.

Going to weld the pieces, then a head band insert to fit my head for comfort. Working on the electronics layout currently and finally the visor, my most dreaded piece because I slave for it to be perfect and want my vision fulfilled haha.

PROGRESS 3D PRINTING - 2023
Welcome to 3d printing - and welcome to 2023 ;)

Looking at that last helmet photo (on you)... Looks like a really good fit. Is that with the padding in place? I saw you said you had to _squeeze_ it on. Do you have room for fans and batteries? Do you have contacts to wear in costume?

Only have "squeeze" because of the glasses themselves. I have to add some padding and the electronics in but there's plenty of space for that right now.

I don't have contacts so my concern is fog up when I get the visor done
