(COMPLETED)he4thbar's Rakshasa PMC Build (Halo Infinite)

Small progress update. I decided it would be more efficient to cut out my remaining armor pieces before gluing. So top row is my boot plate, boot, shins and on the bottom row is the marine backpack with camping pouches. I think that will be a great addition to the cosplay.

My friend has also been printing off a mk50 (using TurboCharizard files) so hopefully that will be finished soon too!

Marine rucksack secured! Once I get the camproll on it the scale will look better. But luckily if I want to rebuild my wife said she would take this one off my hands lol.
Just gotta do the pouches for the ruck and it's done.
Either way I think it's time to start on my wifes Rakshasa spartan.

Both Anastasia and my armor are ready for plastidip. Added all the small details and then kwik sealed all the seams. gonna hope that clear and white kwik seal act the same after curing. either way we are moving on!
A bit more of work to do but making good pace, got about a month of time to work on this.

10 days until the convention.. I'm really cutting it close this time. But I am making progress.
Finished spray painting the armor

Then I finished the initial sanding of the helmets, shotgun and pistol i'm using for this build

Spot putty sloshed my helmet but still have to do the same for the rest. good ole nitrile gloves for spreading lol, and just loading spot putty on the seam to hide it after sanding.

Lastly I bought all my materials for the Vaccum forming table, hoping to follow N8TEBB tutorial and have high hopes to get those done using his generously provided information.

So I have a vacuum forming question for those who have done it before. when crafting my box it will be about 11.5 square inches. by 3" height.
the walls and floor of it will be 1/2" plywood.
The top will be a pegboard i got from home depot.
I was told to be careful about cave ins, so I have an idea but am curious if anyone thinks it's a good idea or to not worry about it?
I think I will just cut my 1" dowels and put 2 of them inside the box to create a hard point from floor to ceiling(pegboard) for the box so It does not cave in. This shouldn't affect suction correct?

I have not built my own vacuum former yet, but as long as the dowels aren't blocking any of the pegboard holes you should be good. Blocking those holes is what will reduce suction.

WE HAVE VISORS.

Took a chance and decided to make my own vacuum forming table and it worked!.
A big thank you to N8TEBB for his tutorial on how to vacform easily in the oven and gave me the idea to use his framing style and C clamps.
TUTORIAL
Ended up using 12" x 12" sheets of PETG .06. Because of this I used a 13" frame using 1" square dowels. (this was made by gluing 2 x 13" and 2 x 11" dowels together and then screwing them in place)
Vac Box was 10.5" squared since the frame came to about 11" interior width meaning i had .5" buffer for placing the plastic over it.
The Box walls and base were made from .5" plywood, so the side walls were 2 x 10.5" and 2 x 9.5" boards at 3" height glued together.
And top was pegboard cut to 10.5" squared as well and I drilled a couple more holes in it.
I also added a wood dowel at 3" height deadcenter of the table to prevent cave ins.
A big thank you to TurboCharizard , Off Earth , Benton188 , and NobleofDeath16 for all their help with any questions I had, no matter how small the question.
Visors turned out pretty dang good for a first try and with 1 week left until my convention I am totally fine with the visors having very small imperfections (bubbling)
Next up will be dying the visors using n8s tutorial as well

Crunch is coming to a head but it is ending really well so far.
Last night Anastasia weathered all the armor and it came out looking awesome.

I finished assembling and spray-painting the helmets using krylon camo khaki (same as the armor)
PXL_20231116_125451300.jpg
Then lastly I finished the night by assembling my m90 shotgun and painting it. Also had the sidekick painted as well. (used krylon dark metal)
Just gotta weather these last bits to be done.

All that's left now is weather the helmets, quick paint the grips on the shotgun/sidkick
Then create a strapping rig for both spartans, I already have all the straps and buckles so it should be simple as measuring, cutting, sewing the buckles in and gluing them.
Next post will most likely be some con photos since the con starts tomorrow. gonna be a busy evening.
