Hello Adam if you are reading this you probably have an idea in your mind that im asking for a donation button for my signature shop. i already posted on your donate button thread and you didn't reply =[ so i thought id make a post and because i couldn't PM you because your inbox is full i made this thread. to a link to the post go to this link signature donation button post

well i would just like to know about your descsion as i provide the community with a service that comes out of my own time and it would fee lnice to be appreciated and again the donations are not compulsary so people can donate at their own will.

could you please consider it Adam?

P.S. i know other peolpe contribute to the community such as NZ-TK and Flying Squirel and many more.

If you really want to do this kind of thing, it probably shouldn't be board sponsored.. just put a little link in your sig, something that links to your email address and paypal (paypal has links availible that do that), with text that says something like "Want to thank me? Click here to put money in my wallet". Or maybe send the link directly when you're sending your sig's out, or put it on your profile page.

Personally, I think it's a bad idea and sets a bad precedent where people start expecting payment to do favors, or perhaps wont accept favors because they know they'd feel guilty if they don't pay. If you need a little extra money, you probably shouldn't do it using someone else's copyrighted material.

I know you're saying it's noncompulsory, but it's trying to make money off of the club, and from the Bungie/M$ Halo copyright. On an official level, I'm stating this isn't good, and not nearly the same thing as raising money for operating costs, which is a necessary evil.

When looked at by an outside observer (namely Bungie/M$), it's likely to look like you're being paid to make things with copyrighted material. That legally crosses the line and no longer makes you a fan making fan-based artwork, it makes you a professional getting paid for violating copyright, which is the whole point of copyright laws in the first place.

In other words, please don't, but if you feel you have to, please do it in such a way that it can't be interpreted as "I accept voluntary payment for my time working with somone else's stuff." Most copyright violations of this type that are ignored, at least PRETEND to receive compensation for material costs, not personal time.

Adam generally doesn't like it when people setup shop here on these forums. Thats why the classifieds section is limited to extra or spare armor you have laying around that you figure you could sell, not mass produce and profit off the forums by having your own little shop.

If you don't like the fact that you don't get anything but satisfied customers for your Sig making, Why don't you just stop? Nobody is forcing you to make them, and I really don't think people would want to pay money for one either, but I am sure some may donate if they are capable. Generally Adam likes to have people asking for donations run through and cleared by him first before they try to profit from the forum.

I think trying to become noticed and making topics begging for it is a waste of time. I agree, no one is forcing crazy chief to make sigs, yet he sounds like it's life or death he needs peopel to sign his petition so he can get recon armor, so "he can use them for sig making". Doesnt make any sense at all.

The reason i dont set up my own shop even though I too can use photoshop? because I'm not a attention seeker on these boards who wants everyone to know "Frost can use photoshop good". People can already see it by looking at my own sig and 1-2 others I have made, I dont need to brag or shout out I can make them.

Once you start taking orders and do it for free, you start to wear out and want a reward for doing it all, but you dont deserve one, because you chose to be rampaged by people who wanted signatures made. Once in a while on this forum or other forums, I will be asked to make a signature, but I dont go advertising my skill.

And like doom said, your making a shop out of this, and since you can churn sigs out easily, that's mass making. You want money now, but really adam should be the one getting it, he pays for this site and without it, you wouldnt even have your little sig shop in the first place.

im 17 im buried in AS studies and revision how can i get a job and the military doesn't spark my interest.

So you "CPU64" can tell all the poeple in my sig shop to go find someone better than me, you know it, i know it, they know it.

No one told you to stop making sigs, you dont need to over react.

You said it yourself, "I'm 17" now act like it, adam wasnt flaming you either, but making a point. Your hobby is in no way related to website besides making signatures for forum members, that isnt the point of the 405th. We can easily see why a donation button, especially when 100% of funds will support you, will not exist.

I still make signatures for myself or others once in a while, but I dont go advertising my ability, just keep it as a hobby. Not a business where you feel unappreciated and unpaid.
