zaff it's a bob from marathon... it's an easter egg.

thank you

Sweetness! That BR in pepakura would a great reference tool to use. I've searched high and low to find some good blue prints. Could use the function on the pep program to get different dimensions, and thicknesses. I know that there is one for download in the halo4 files thread but, it's a low depth file. I've seen it pepped, somewhere in one of the threads. Just doesn't do much justice. Awesome work, can't wait to see more!

A nod to the past, much like the Security helmet in Halo 3.

I think I have that one some where can you post a pic please, so that I can look for it

ok so this is my first br file that I have worked over so that being said check it out.

mesh welded, sharpened details, edited where I felt that I needed to make it some what easier to build. I tried my hardest to keep it as original as possible, especially on specs. the width is slightly wider not much and I mean not much but it was changed. I spit the model in halve( look at my previous post) to get it symmetrical. I left the scope separate so that you can move forward or backward on the rail. I also made the middle hollow, you can maybe insert lens, frosted plexi-glass with leds etc. this is high def. some things I did not want to mesh weld but I ended up welding them to the main model any ways. I edited the magazine opening to accept the magazine, I also edited the magazine top. the charging handle was left separate on purpose, also I made the opening for the charging handle on both sides( this is one of the main things that I did change.

original model, I must be crazy, tub... i ekil ti.
H4BRORIGINGAL.jpg

done
H4BRDONE.jpg

this is one of the things that I did not want to mesh weld but I did anyways, good luck
H4BRSIDE2.jpg

more mesh welding, I also edited the opening so that the selector switch would not intersect with the side faces. I welded the selector to the highlighted area
H4BRSIDE.jpg

this was fun and tedious, mesh welding the rail, I also raised the area to which they are welded. reason : to eliminate small folds
H4BREDITRAIL3.jpg

H4BREDITRAIL2.jpg

H4BREDITRAIL.jpg

changed these recessed areas. it had really small beveled edges, so I edited them, extruded at edge opening and closed up
H4BREIDT.jpg

MAAAAANNNNN THIS THING IS A MESS!!!!! open edges, flipped faces, yeah bring it.
H4BRPEPTEST1.jpg

HA HA !! cleaned up pretty good. pep test for open edges, final.

That unfold is great, but in my experience, having blank pages out like that means you'll end up having to take blank card out of your printed pile - Pepakura still treats them as 'printed' pages and feeds the pages through unnecessarily.

I'd personally advise setting your pieces up so they flow decently - start at the top, and work your way down to the back, sides, and finish at the chin, without having any 'gaps' or blank pages if you can help it.

Hey Crimmson, serving up one unfolded Marine helmet.

Here's the download link:

To everybody else this is only my second attempt at unfolding so tell me what you think, and whether it meets standards or not.

thank you S323, I cant unfold to save my life.

thank you for the tips Arcanine, I will use this at any attempts to unfold a model

Zaff it is low def only, but if you or anyone has kids this would be great for them.
I don't know how well this will translate into a helmet but here it is bob the Spartan helmet
it was a real pain mesh welding this

Yeah I was trying to keep the pieces that were connected close together and in order, but I guess I could have done that without blank pages. I'll try and reupload the file once I've changed it, I also realized I forgot to turn on the edge id's as well as change some of the flap orientations of the uplink module.

And here we are. Everything's still together and it looks alot prettier. :D

Alright Blertz, I found three other things as well. I looked it over some more. If you find any more please let me know. I know this is annoying but please stick with it, I really want to see this done. thanks once again

I looked over the rail gun and the plasma pistol, I didn't find any weird geometry but if you guys do please don't hesitate to let me know or some else or if you can edit it please do so. also if you want to change some thing on any of these and I am taking to long to answer you, don't hesitate to do yourself if you know how or ask some one that can.

Alright NOMAYBEYES here is the halo 4 covenant carbine like you asked. it has been mesh welded, details sharpened, heavily edited in some parts to make it all work it still looks the same but modeled different. the magazine area is completely remodeled to allow the magazine to fit in it. the magazine itself has slight modifications to allow fitment. split model in half for symmetry, removed all extra faces inside of the model.
edited some faces so that they don't intersect with each other. I ask for some one with modeling experience to please look this over and tell me what you think any changes, well just change it or tell me what you want to change and I will. if its all good then..... IN YOUR FACE, THE COVENANT CARBINE SUCKAS!!!!

original model
where are my really crazy crazies at. in all honesty I almost gave up on this one as well, almost but then It started falling together.
H4COVENANTRIFLEORIGINAL.jpg

done, the magazine area is working will accept the magazine, it is slightly bigger for fitment.

H4COVENANTRIFLEBLEND.jpg

pep test, some open faces weird geometry, flipped faces

H4COVENANTRIFLE.jpg

pep test final
now I know that I rely on pepakura to find the open edges etc, a lot, but it makes it easier to find the problems for me verses in blender.

Hey Crimmson, got another marine file unfolded for ya.
Behold, chest plate #1:

MarineChest1_zps167a77ee.png

http://www.4shared.com/file/ifoZ42pUce/halo_4_UNSC_marine_chest.html

And... Marine Chestplate #1 for foam (for us crazy foam builders :D)

MarineChest1Foam_zpse2a301a4.png

http://www.4shared.com/file/K3dUuKofba/halo_4_UNSC_marine_chest__foam.html

As always the weapon files are looking awesome. I was thinking though that the amount of small details may not make them very fun to pep, however the cleaned up obj's would probably work awesome for a 3D printer or cnc if you can find someone on the forum willing to test one. Just my two cents, keep up the good work.

thank you S323 for the unfolds. I too believe that they are to detailed, but if anybody wants them there they are at least. they can be a great starting point for some people due to them being solid instead of 10, 20 or more models shaped together to make the final model. like the forerunner sniper is probably 50 different models together, I started it and I decided to leave it alone it was just to much mesh welding and changing things to make it work.

the spread gun !!!!!!! need I say more. you guys know the drill. short and sweet got a doctors appointment in the morning.

original
H4SPREADGUNORIGINAL.jpg

done suckas( I hope) I EDITED THE CRAP OUT OF THIS THING !!!!! so that being said I hope you like it this way, I will probably continue to edit it some more to see how it ends up.

pept test, many faces left inside, double faces, weird geometry, open faces reverse faces.

Sir, you are just hands down amazing at what you do! I wish I had your talents! If you ever get bored and want to rip some 3d images out of a game grab the MechWarrior Online f2p and go crazy on their giant metal asses. I have three 3d printers waiting to spit out some of these rifles in miniature and would love a mech or two! Once again thanks for your hard work and providing us with these amazing models!

Actually, In my experience, Pep does Not label them as pages. You can check, though, by going into 2d menu>show page number. That will label each page it's gonna print.

And please, Crimmson, show us more awesome.
