Been quiet lately and working on alot, mainly some commissions, but in the mix of things, have perfected my halo3 mk6 neck seal after many refinements. I've got it working perfect with my foam mk6 AND the Branfuhr helmet! Wait.. what.. hold on... yeah that's a new helmet I'll be adding to my Chief loadout! Still love my foam one and will use it, but man this casted helmet is so perfect! Really going to look great with my full armor

Been quiet lately which seems to be the norm, but grabbing time to get suit work done when I can. Today will be a big start to painting. Got my shoulder pieces leak sealed, sanded and ready for paint. Got my Branfuhr helmet sanded, visor fitted, and primed as well. Got a awesome mac5 on the way from Jomomma008 and even got my 405th HOD volunteer shirt in the mail this week! Love the slight tweak to my insta name adding "The" to the beginning. Thought that was great! Cant wait to get suited back up, if all goes well, I'll be suiting up this next weekend at our local Renn Fest. Not all upgrades will be done by then, but I should be to a wearable point again.

Took some time away from suit upgrades to put what I have to the ultimate test. Needless to say it was a huge success! Went to Maryland Renn Fest which is a huge piece of property in the woods with steep gravel hills and terrain with rooted trails through the medieval permanent town. Thousands of people attend this event every year so I figured I'd drop Chief in for some action. I was stoked with how well received Master Chief was there. Everyone, young and old knew who I was and were hyped to see the Chief. The official King of the event even welcomed me, saying "Welcome Master Chief, glad you could join us sir". Really was humbling to see how much Halo has had an impact on so many people and that it is still VERY much alive!

I finished painting the new shoulder pieces Friday night before the event and man I'm glad I rebuilt these, huge improvement and made me look like the walking tank Chief is. The new neck seal worked perfectly, new padding and strapping solutions made the suit wearability super comfortable for the nearly 8 hours I wore it straight. New ankle undersuit pieces gave me the bulk transition from shin to boot I needed. My boots were indestructible with thick strong rubber soles. We hiked miles over gravel terrain and my boots just laughed at the challenge! I'm so glad my suit is "mob proof" as Sean would say, cause I literally had a drunk guy jump on my back and cling on me. My bro ripped him off me and I yanked my helmet off and gave him an ear full along with other people in the crowd. Thankfully the suit suffered absolutely no damage at all.

Now I just have to finish more undersuit goodies, voice audio for my new torso in the works and I will be finishing my new helmet painting this week!

The upgraded pieces and these photos came out amazing man!
I'm also definitely not jealous of your Renn Fest experience xD.
It was a good time, just had to spartan up a little! For real, I'd love to get a few more spartans out there next year, it was very well received. Having a small team would be awesome to crash Renn Fest with. Lighting is great, crowd is huge, just need a tough as nails suit!

That neck seal is amazing! I really need to figure that out too so i can stop using a balaclava and overheating 3 minutes after walking inside any convention halls! I cant wait to see what else comes from your undersuit!!

James check out this build!

Thank you for the support! The neck seal took tons of development but finally dialed it in using 4mm med dense foam, barge to join everything including the zipper and 2mm med dense foam for the chin strap. I had plenty of air getting in my helmet all day and air even circulates between my neck and the seal too. It was seriously very comfortable to wear, huge break through for my suit.

If I do a neck seal, mine has like a guard on my front throat and back neck, not looking forward to it, but dsmn if yours doesn't want me to try it at least
You should man, I highly recommend this method, it works very well and 4mm foam has enough give. Looking striaght down is the only real resistance and even then it's not bad at all

This is just a modified version of evil Ted's, no? Like, if I want to duplicate something like this, his pattern would work?
It started off as an evil ted but then I heavily altered the templates to my needs. The only one pretty much original to his is the front center piece. I even bevel cut that at the top to angle in my chin strap. Teds original templates are a good starting point but are sized small for most people and dont come up high enough for halo armor. I barge pieces of elastic on the side of the chin strap to so that it draws up to the face for a good seal. Mobility is pretty darn good and the zipper in the back is the way to go for sure!

Looking down in this pic just fine

Got my new helmet all finished painted up and looking mean! Really happy with the paint job as it matches my suit perfectly and matches the lighting color changes of the game very well in all types of ambient light. Like always, I match every scratch that I can make out in game theator mode to the best I can see them with 12 year old graphics. Finished up last night the wiring of fans and lights with internal light activation on demand. Huge improvement to the suit! Obviously this helmet has a much better look than my last one with the hard edges. The wearability and visibility is an even better improvement. My neck seal has great clearance for perfect airflow and head rotation. The removable padding system is on point with comfort as well! I can post inside pics of it later but it's even cleaner on the inside than my last one. Heres a link to my insta with the light activation in action!

Haha for now the old has been retired to wall duty on my prop wall, never to be worn again unless for an emergency. It had a good run!
You could turn it into an alternate style helm, or a destroyed prop piece too.
E.g. cracked helm chief, turn it into a Noble 6-like prop, etc.
