Halo 3 ODST 1st build for me

I’m not sure how much room you have, but they really don’t take up a lot of room. I put mine in a dedicated spot on my desk. It takes up roughly 1.5sqft and stands about 29in tall. Just letting you know for future info in case you decide on getting one!

Yeah unfortunately don’t have any desk space anywhere that I can put a printer. It needs to be up and out of the reach of little children I have and I don’t have that ability right now lol I do all of my crafts on the dinner table, and it’s quickly picked up every night even when I’m in the middle of making things. Wish I had an office. Don’t even have a place to put my custom desktop computers I build years ago so they’re in storage.

Ahh I understand. Definitely don't want the children getting access to a 3D printer. Not only damaging your print, but they can hurt themselves on the hot parts. Gotta make due with what you can (not saying foam is wrong lol). You're doing a great job!

Foam is always OG but definitely a safety hazard as well as a sad day if a print gets messed up from curious hands. Then the safety hazard to the little hands becomes me...lmfao jkjk thanks man! Should have some more updates this week!

Little more of the details completed in the battle belt. Almost to the finish line!

Okay, this thing is done besides painting, and then attaching everything to the respective parts of the belt. Whew. Should be the last of the details. Just gotta fill seams on all of the armor and touch it up, get it sanded where it needs it, and final touches. Hope y’all have enjoyed the journey so far!

Well my friends, it’s been cold just like everywhere else, and I do not have a garage or indoor area to paint. So while waiting, here’s some things I’ve done that didn’t require painting: added battle damage to my armour, TRIED to do the simple speaker system in the helmet so people could hear me but there is no sound when I speak so when that was a bust, I rewired my helmet fans to flow air out of the helmet through the ODST vents on either side, which greatly helps keep my helmet from fogging. It’s just a little loud but as long as you say it with your chest, I’ll hear you. Then I made a combat knife from making a freehand template, and some 6mm foam. I just eyed it so the knife may be out of proportions, but I tried to base the size/proportion off of Bucks knife. No measurements, just drawing it and cutting it.
The battle damage is from taking direct and glanced hits from high caliber weaponry from innies, and plasma scorches and hits from covies.

Still waiting on getting warm weather for paints but I have now made some medical stickers for myself and TllXValhalla. The good ole classic program Paint for print screening/pasting the Med sticker directly off the Rookie Guide, a printer, and some laminate, and voila! Just needs glue or adhesive spray and just mount it to the shoulder.

Your belt work gives me a great idea on how I'm going to do mine. That's the idea I had in my mind but it looks good seeing it completed. I'm doing my med decal the same way as well as I don't have a vinyl printer. The laminate idea is perfect! I was planning to just matte clear but that's even better! Armor really looks solid!

Thanks Fox! I’m glad I helped reinforce an idea you had floating around. I liked the idea of doing that since technically that whole piece according to the Rookie guide is supposed to be a battle belt anyways. I’m trying to make it modular, practical, and still game accurate. Do you have a thread going already?? I haven’t explored yet to see lol

Yessir I do! I really should have put some work into it today but I just haven't had the time.

Well life happened and I’m going to have to take an unknown amount of time break from my build. Personal reasons. But I was able to bust out all of this today while the weather was good for about 5 hours. Sorry that this will be the last build update for a while but I’ve enjoyed all of you watching and tagging along on this journey.

Great detail on the bullet marks! They really look like dented metal!
Much appreciated Ang. I hit it with a hammered aluminum directly in the battle damage spots, covered it with toothpaste, smashed it with a chalk charcoal grey, and wiped off the toothpaste, as suggested by many a tutorial. Didn’t make it to weathering but when I find time to resume my build, should look decently battle worn.
