I do not know yet. I'm trying to figure out everything before I start, one of me problems i get to going to fast I need to slow down. What materials do i need and where can i get them.
Being a new member, I suggest that you read all the stickies and tutorials in the Noob forum before asking any more generic questions. Questions like this will not get much response from the veterans. The stickies cover everything you need to know on how to make armor. And please do not double-post.

Ok i am a new member so thanks for being you... I guess but these questions are bc i cant find my way around this site bc im new. how do you get to the tutorials?

It is great that you want to make halo armor, but make sure that you are 100% sure about what you are doing (includes planning). I recomend finding a mentor- heres a link http://www.405th.com/showthread.php/30138-405th-Mentor-Programme-2.0?highlight=mentor . It really helped me with my build.

ok thanks i will check it out.i t shouldt be hard i make armor, armor. mentioning that has anyone tred making spartan armor out of metal.
A few people have brought it up. I have a lot of experience with welding so I can tell you this. The only way your would be able to break sheet metal and weld it would be with a very fine metal break and a tig or spot welder. ARC and MIG welding would generate too much heat. Cold/Fake welding such as liquid metal doesn't hold up well so that's out of the question. Even with the right equipment it would take one hell of a TIG welder to pull it off without much warpage. It would be about like custom making a motorcycle tank out of individual pieces like they do on Orange County Choppers.

That is something i want to try it would take some time but it almost seems worth it. And i know how metal acts around heat. what really bothers me would be the cooling prossess. is that anything like blacksmithing?
if you could take a helmet to a proffessional sculpture and have them make a mold of several pieces of the helmet then try to make a bronze one first.
would galvenized steel work easier than sheet metal?

has anyone made a "jump suit" that looks like the one the spartan's wear under the armor?
Okay, not to sound like a jerk, but you're asking alot of questions that could simply be answered by spending some time looking at peoples finished armor threads. Go to different forums and just look at threads that have titles that appeal to you. You can learn alot about the hobby that way!

that is a little rude, because of the way u put it. but i understand what u r saying. this site is just hard to navigate. Things aren't labeled to well i looked for a forum that had list of materials needed but i couldnt fing one. Im not trying to be a dich i am just trying to learn what I am asking from some pple who have been doing this a while. thats what i thought the noob forums where for. And about the jump suit thing i was just wondering and wanting a quick answer.
Please realize, some of these people have been answering the same questions your posting for years. Surely you can see why they would be giving "testy" responses? This is why they made the stickies. I spent 2 months reading them before even posting my first time.
But, on to better things...I see you are excited about this, but please make sure this is something you really want to try.
To start (after reading the stickies), try to pep a piece. See how you do with that, and post pictures, so we can see and possibly help you find any solutions for any problems [FYI, We LOVE pictures!] you may be having.
Making this armor, from my blacksmithing experience, would be next to impossible.

thats what i thought that it might be impossible to make in metal. but if u casted molds would that work? Thanks for the response, I am really interested in doing this. what should i try to do first

Casting in metal? It might work, but unless you are a spartan, you probably wouldn't be able to move much. Remember, these are props, not intended for anything other than looking good. I hope this helps.

bronze if thin isnt that heavy, nor would aluminum be. So i am guessing that the video tells you what kind of materials you will need and everything right?
