I got a chance to look at your eDrawing during my break at work, VERY NICE! (y)

Mind if I steal work the Bevbor™ suspension into my design when I get that far?

ok i see a problem with the suspension. it would limit the four wheel turn capabilities, and from my uderstanding the warthog still uses traditionial independatn suspension. im not a mechanical engineer or a 3d guru so maybe a little reasearch could help that design.

I'll take a look at the in-game hog when I get a chance, but the suspension I see in his model is independant. I'm not sure if it the correct setup, but looking at the hog in the game should help me figure it out.

Suspension and the turning mechanics won't be too hard to figure out. If someone were to really make this though, the hardest part would be figuring out the gearing and engine tuning. If only WETA would release the plans for theirs...:rolleyes

The only problem with WETA's hog is the suspension. They used a Jeep as a starting point (I don't fault them for it, they're not an auto company), and you can see the standard 4x4 front and rear transaxles on it. The in-game hog doesn't have any link between the ends of the suspension arms, so there should be no transaxle. For steering, in-game and in Bevbor's model, there's a knuckle on the end of the suspension arms for a gearbox and turnable stub axle.

Im going to put up a list all the parts and prices where to get them and other details Ill start a wip thread later when im not on my psp

that would be a pretty hard (yet awesome) project to work on
im sure you would be so happy after its done though haha, i would do so many things in the desert with a warthog

Spiz430 - you necro posted a thread. That is a no no. SkullCandyGirl is on the lookout for this sort of thing and handing out warning levels for it. Just thought you all might like to know. I'll take mine if it comes to educate the populous.

I've been planning on building a warthog ever sense I saw the youtube video of the real life warthog.
Don't have a chassis yet, going to wind up either with a Cherokee, Bronco, Tahoe, or some older Chevy pickup.
Going to machine a full scale front clip just to play with it here in the next couple of weeks...
Figure I'd make it like a clam shell design where it opens forward like a big rig.
The final scale is going to depend on the chassis I wind up getting.
Have screen shot of my autocaded image for the front clam shell

Figured I'd make the whole vehicle out of 18 or 20 gauge steel, with rebar welded throughout to strengthen it.
Gonna run small holes like a perforation where the bends will need to be instead of actually trying to bend the sheets in a brake, It will make fitment much easier as the angles won't be permanent until welded.
Not sure on what im going to do about "saftey features" I want it to be street legal here in california.
Going to have to retain as much as I can but i really don't see how i can keep anything there.
Once I get the whole thing designed I also plan on making kits for Yamaha Rhino's
