Welcome to the forums.

Your excitement is awesome but I would like to note that it's not necessary to create a new thread to solely introduce yourself (in fact it is prohibited to do so). Perhaps you could add directly to this thread when you commence your work to morph it from an introduction thread into a build thread.

If you are new to the hobby I will suggest reading and researching as much as you can in order to get a handle on some of the more basic materials and methods most people use. A great place to start is Roadkiller's reading list (http://www.405th.com/showthread.php/30542-NOOB-reading-list).
