Hot Knife??

Hey ive been looking around and i see people useing foam in their armor builds but havent seen anyone use a hot knife cut and shape the foam. Iam just trying to figure out if someone tried it and what where their results. Also if nobodies tried it if it sounds like a good idea? Any ideas, info or anything would be appreciated thanks.

there are a couple of foam builders who use hot knives.. or model railroad foam knifes...
I personally use my band saw to cut mine... I use a fence to sut my angles etc...
You will also see people using electric knives... like turkey carving knives....

I know of people who use Dremels to cut through foam with good results if you want to try that. T

i have been using a hot knife and a regular exacto with good results. and then a dremel with a barrel sander on it to do some shaping. works for me.

xacto knife and soldering iron works fine her along with scissors of course.

I use an exacto knife and a regular pocket knife. I like the results I get.

if im remembering correctly, ben streeper was singing the praises of hot knives on one of his video updates. they work really well, but dull the blades quickly when using it on the foam.

Thats why you use guitar string..... always a great cut
