How to add height to boots?

So, I have a feeling the answers to this question are somewhere else, however I have not been able to find them. What are some ways of making height additions to footwear for costumes? I have seen references to this in many threads, but never a detailed explanation of how.

hmm... in my opinion its depends on the type of shoe you are using.
if you use some kind of street wear or sport shoes you should build some kind of a mount for your shoes and strap it on top of the sole.
you can use materials like wood or eva foam to get the perfekt height.

take a look in the elite section. there should be some solutions for your problem.

That is exactly what I mean. There are mentions of doing it. No one says how they have done it.
