Hello I am very new to this armor making hobbie andi could use some help. After browsing 405th and seeing many different armors, I am finally confidant I can do this. I want to start With a classic Halo C.E. Mark V Armor, but cant find a good pepakura file for it, also I do not know how scaling works and i am 6 Foot 2 Inches. If you could set me up with some good files and with the measurements mentioned above it would be greatly apreciated.

Thanks,
Nick

:coolHey Nick! Welcome! Awesome to see another noob making a Mk V!! There are a few of us making this model right now and for most of us it's our first build too!! We are using the MOZ pep files found on the pepakura wiki. The model isn't the most detailed but it was built right from the Halo CE model. It is a simple build but if you want detail you are going to have to be creative and use things such as cardboard and bondo and such. There are no other Mk V pep files besides the MOZ files that I'm aware of but they are good for a first build. Again there are a few of us making this model and we are all comparing notes so you are welcome to join in :-D. Good luck and hope to see your progress!!!

Oh, and for scaling there are a few tutorials in the creation and pepakura forums. I would post a link but I'm on my phone and its kind of a b**ch. Just go in to the creation forum and search the forum for scaling tutorial. Hope this helps!

Can't go by just your height.
If you do a bit of searching there are some really good threads with tons of scaling info. In general, start with the piece you want, say helmet, measure bottom of chin to forehead, convert to mm. This would be the helmet height. I would recommend adding 1-2 cm (20mm) for padding and movement. Then again, this might not work in terms of depth and width. It can be trial and error.

Best is to play with scale using the low def parts. These are very quick to build, try them on, add or subtract where needed. Remember, reducing one dimension will reduce another, You'll want to keep the proper proportion and pad in or modify your pep as needed.

Here are two links for file repositories or threads:

The way I scaled my armor was kinda like exilium said. I looked at a reference picture of MC andsaw how the armor piece fit on him, measured how that would fit on my body part, and plugged that number in to pepakura. For the torso piece I measured the width at the shoulders. Seemed to work pretty good. There's a 3 view reference picture of MC floating around somewhere and that's what I used, like in my avatar. Hope this helps
