Hey everyone just got back for the ER because my internet went off and i got bored so i went and was mixing up some resin and mixed some black paint with it(good thing i didnt add hardner) and i was ixing just about to put hardner in it and it splashed into my eyes in which i some how magicly I made it thru 3 doors running as fast as i could with out opeing my eyes and getting to my sink in about 30 seconds and flushed my eyes repeatedly. They burned and they hurt, so i had my mom take me to the ER and we had to wait for a while and then i got in there the guy that was my doctor or whatever was really cool and was really nice.He flushed my eyes, added some i drop things that stung for about 30 seconds, then he flushed it again. He then put a orange dye in my eyes which made everything to me orange which was cool, and then he used a black light to looks at it,whch turned it a neon green,He found 2 burns on my right eye, one on the cornea and one on the white. And he foud a burn on the white in my left eye, So now i have to rinse my eyes in the morning and put some anti bacterial jell on it 3 times a day and it really goopy, but it helps it alot. Now in two days im going to see an optomotrist (misspelled) to see about my eyes some more but this was all because i didnt wear safety googles, which now i will. But thats howstupid people can be sometimes so and i cant go out side for tommorow so ill be working on my models.

Thank goodness your okay, wonder what would've happen if the hardener was in :cautious:
But that is cool that you got to see only orange for a little bit, hope your eye is okay though. ( I want to try!!)lol
You're jst lucky a miracle came to save you then, or you'd would of knocked your head on something right when you got through th e first door.

BTW: How hard were you mixing that sucker

Wow dude that must've been scary! When I was a kid I splashed gasolene in my eyes & a couple years ago I got a little too close to a firecracker & burnt them a bit, but nothing serious cause I have glasses, but man I couldn't imagine going thru that! Ur so lucky u didn't put any hardener in, who knows how bad that would've turned out.

a lesson to us all to be sure, it's good that you're not seriously hurt. I am curious as to why you put paint in the resin.

hopefully your eye gets better...just remember to use safety precautions next time.
It's definitely not the first time a member hurts themselves for not using goggles....

This might be a sign that you're mixing too much resin at one time...

Things I've had in my eyes so far:

Wood splinters
Grinder sparks
Full drop of FLEX shampoo (oh the pain...)
Gasoline
shrapnel from a broken screw driver tip.
At least 3 different bugs while bike riding.
Spider web.

Members should note that the use of recommended safety equipment may be necessary when fiberglassing your eyeballs.

 Glad to hear you're okay buddy. Take your time and always be cautious when working with hazardous materials. We have some safety guides too, in case you need them.

Be safe. ;)

Im happy you are all right, but the safety google are not for blind and I really wish you would be whearing them the next time you would be working on something.
For me I got wood, metal and melted metal in my eyes and I was whearing glass.
