Im currently working on a MK VI build using Robogenesis's pep files. For hardening im not using fiberglass and fiberglass resin on my pieces. Instead going for a 2 part urethane plastic ie. smoothcast to harden and reinforce my pieces by painting it on.
So I just finished the belt/pelvis piece when i asked myself a question "How the hell am i gonna harden this bloody thing?"

Ill eventually make a WIP thread to show you all, but i thought you guys might a get a laugh outta this.

The pelvis piece (upside down cause it wont sit on a table otherwise)

THE SOLUTION!!
Take a plastic rubbish bag and a cable tie (zip tie)

Inflate the bag and tie it off

aaahhh:D, i was kinda surprised at myself how well it worked. Even my dad thought it was clever... and doesnt compliment me very much :p lol
So the moral of this story, if all you people, noobs or otherwise, are having trouble with a problem.. IMPROVISE!! usually the most simplest thing can make things alot easier not just for building armor, but for life in general!

Now time for another beer!
Cheers.

Lol, to answer your thread's question Metalfr3q I'd say- all of the above! But so long as it works- who cares?;)

Look forward to seeing more, keep us informed.

great idea dude.... people might use this on closed chest peps too! ... you are now the grandpoobah of this method :p i say make a tut XD :p

So did you brush the inside of the part with Smoothcast, or are you just substituting fiberglass resin with smoothcast resin?
