Hey everyone, I'm new to the site, but I'd love to make some Halo props. I'm really interested in all of the weapons, because my friends and I have nothing to do this summer, and we're going to try to make our own laser tag guns ( http://www.lasertagparts.com/mtdesign.htm ) and the MA5B/C is probably my favorite AR design ever. So if anyone has any tips, tricks, or design ideas, I'd love to hear them! :D

Thank you!

Sounds cool. First I'd make or buy an AR :p. I've made a pepakura MA5C file HERE.

Should I use that file as a sort of blueprint? 'Cause these guns are going to have to withstand some weathering and quite a bit of a beating. We'll probably be outside or in some paintball/combat arenas, so they'll constantly be getting dropped or hit up against something.

The Pepakura seems to require some pretty fine motor skills...anything involving, yknow, something without folding? Lol. I have a bunch of spare ABS parts from airsoft guns and stuff. I would love to work with plastic and metal, but I have no metal or plastic working tools...

well this is what i did, not for laser tag though, i took cardboard, cut it out, made it 3d-ish and paper mached it, its not the best but i like it and it works. so you could cut through paper mache easly and insert your laser tag ... things lol

A lasertag spartan laser would be cool.

Yeah it would. The MILESTag software will soon (eventually, hopefully) allow for different kinds of damage, I.E. explosive radial damage, secondary damage, maybe different kinds of calibers?, etc. So it be really cool to get a lot of different types of weapons in the game.
