Well i have been quiet for a while due to a short stint in hospital, but it gave me a little time to think, i was originally going to make a ODST as my first build but i had time to think and to watch every single reach video i could find, and so i was convinced :D i decided to build myself a Jun-A266 suit because ive always loved snipers.

so far ive only done the first hand plate;

Now just wondering does that handplate look the right size? it seems a little small to me.

now for the next few weeks it will mostly be pep updates as i am strapped for cash right now :\ lol and might be for a while but i guess that gives me time to make sure all my pep files are just perfect :D haha

Thanks,
Lemon

that's awesome man! you don't see too many Jun builds out there yet. gonna try and make it in time for the launch?

Well i am surprised at myself i managed to churn out the second hand plate in about 4 hours :D

only problem i have found with the plate is the bottom :( it seems a bit warped but i think i should be able to fix that at a later stage

Next i think im going to start work on the arm section but that should be interesting :D haha

yay update, well not really yay because i had a bit of a set back :(, while in the process of building one of the upper arm pieces i decided to take a nap, baaaaaaaad idea >_<, i have recently got a new dog and he is very curious and while i was sleeping he decided to swipe the piece and begin scratching at it and well, here is what happened;

so in the interests of keeping my motivation going i have decided to start on the forearm pieces and re do this piece later, this time a bit out of the dogs reach i think haha

Well i have nearly finished the forearm piece ive been working on this week and im a little confused here is why:

now i did scale the forearm but looking at how it is there is seems to big :\ or atleast it does to me, can anyone help?

I think it's the right size, as your hand is supposed to be centered in it, + some padding will be there.
But, if you feel like scaling it down, do it, it's your decision :)

well i finally have an update :) managed to change the fore arm and now it fits great :D

Your pep work is very nice. What are you using to make the actual folds? Are you bending the paper over the edge of something? Or are you doing something else? I assume you've made a few pep parts before? I just did the Carter helmet (HD), my first pep EVER. It was nuts. I'm wondering if there is something I'm missing, due to seeing what you've done here.
How did you manage to build just the top, and then just the bottom? What process are you using in oder to work on that specific section all at the same time? I've also printed out a Jun pep file and have started work on it.
It must be a different file the one you have here, due to there not being any long pieces for the top like that. I think the attachment is buil into teh design on the one I'm working on.

first off thanks :D wow few question there xD

ok well i used these 2 turorials;
Iceman's How to make good folds in Pep Tute: http://www.405th.com/showthread.php/1368-Tutorial-How-To-Make-Good-Folds-For-Pepakura-Armor
and rvb4life's Pepakura for dummies: http://www.405th.com/showthread.php/8791-Tutorial-Pepakura-building-for-dummies-(or-noobs)

those tutorials basicly give you all the info you need to start building pep :D

as for the Helmet files i am using raziel1981 Jun files
Helmet: Jun Helmet Unfolded by Brothers Darkness
Attachment:Jun Helmet Attachment Unfolded by Brothers Darkness

as for building the top and bottom separately, i just started on piece and then decided to move on to the other one, probably going to link them up over the course of today.

hope that helps mate :D good luck with you builds :)

well i got the helmet up to a point where i could try it on and well.... it didnt go well :(

im starting to think that the image i am using to scale is not very good :( just upped the size of the helmet by 40mm which im hoping will be enough, if not i guess 3rd times the charm. :D

Edit: well i figured where i was going wrong >_< when i was about to print the file, Pep asked me if i wanted to fix the scaling, i figured this was because i had changed the paper type from Letter to A4, *facepalm* what it did is change the size of the pep pieces back to default >_< stooopid me :p

Ok guys well i need some help right now :) just your opinions on the size of my reattempt of the helmet :D to me its a bit big but then again i have never done this before :) not the most charming photos but get the job done i hope

The method I used to scale it right was to take the height measurement of your head(bottom of chin to top of head) and add 3 cm or so to it and use that for the helmet height in pepakura

Good thing you caught the fact it was too small early on. Would've sucked to get all the way through and realize it's too small.

I agree. this is the best way to do it. Even for the rest of the suit its best to just measurer it rather then doing the math in my opinion.
