Have until about July 22nd to git 'er done. 26 days till paint day!

So I have made some pep before. Technically this will be my "third" project.... but lets not count my first attempt. OH? You want to know what I tried to make?
FFXIII-2 Armor without sizing it and too much bondo.

Anyways I have been working on this for 44 days between work.
The helmet has taken me TOO much time, but at 27 pages and multiple problems....
Been posting build pics here before I made this post! There will be more frequent, not so important, updates there if you guys have any tips for me like what materials I should make the undersuit out of. :D

Progress;
(I'm going to keep this updated.)

PeperonieGlass - BodyDone
Helmet
Chest
Forearm
Shoulder +
Thigh
Knee
Calf
Boot
Undersuito

o = nothing done
✓ = progress

Up Next;
Pep new shoulders. Slap some filler on things, sand, paint. 2 days to do all the body work... if i have extra time I'll make ANOTHER wider chest piece.

Finally, some photos.

That is some beautiful pep work hope the resin and bondo goes well.

Great stuff, Spartan. I'll be working on an Argus build myself in the future, so I'll be watching this thread closely for tips - particularly on the torso sizing, since my previous effort didn't fit perfectly despite attempts to ensure it did.

Yeah, that looks great! And that looks like a really challenging helmet to pep. Don't forget to do thin coats of resin. You don't want to lose all that detail by getting pools of resin. Good luck with the deadline, you'll have to be vigilant!

Thank you! It took way too long to do, but luckily I kept it high detail so there is less minute details to do by hand!

Wow sweet, thanks! I'm starting torso tomorrow (fingers crossed).
Well, from what I can see as of right now I am making the front hinge. That or come off completely to be held in place with quick release torque/band clamps. It should help with sizing since then I'll be able to squish in there. Sizing wise I am only making it as wide as my shoulders.

I don't want to think of all the brushes I'll lose on the outer coats. GG at least I can slush the hell out of the inside!!! Exactly 100 days left. It leaves me a few days before Aug 4th con.

You'll make it........Your doing great and your pieces look Fantastic!!! Keep going. Don't get frustrated and don't give up.

Re: Linda-058 First FULL build. I'll do it in 143 days!!

Looking good! Hopefully I can get some motivation from your work to keep going on my Linda build :p

Re: Linda-058 First FULL build. I'll do it in 143 days!!

Wow, looking really good so far. I am happy to see someone is doing Linda.

Re: Linda-058 First FULL build. I'll do it in 143 days!!

Awesome! Linda's my favorite blue team member. Looking forward to watching this!

Re: Linda-058 First FULL build. I'll do it in 143 days!!

So today I did a quick thin coat of glass before work, it didn't do much. Just finished another coat hopefully that will be sturdy enough for me to slush the insides.
Checking on it in 2 hrs, will veg/ make some pep till then :d
Boots or forearms next?

Thanks for the positive energy! I'm highly optimistic about this, and I won't take me not finishing this in time hehe.

JOIN THE LINDA!

Wow, looking really good so far. I am happy to see someone is doing Linda.

It's by far the most difficult so I'm not surprised I've only seen one other build :O

Awesome! Linda's my favorite blue team member. Looking forward to watching this!

SAME! I didn't like her at first because I thought the helmet was bonkers.... then I was voluntold to be Linda, now I LOVE HER!

I have some boot files ready to go, you can find it HERE. Hopefully you'll find them of use. Also, I'd be very appreciative of any files you've edited and built - I'd like to put them in the Archive for others to use and benefit from, if you don't mind that. I'd also like to look at them myself.

Arguably the Argus set is relatively simple, barring the helmet. Certainly some of Blue Team/Fireteam Osiris' armours are more complex.

It has been decided then! I just looked at my model for the boots and you probably saved me a few hours yelling at 3dsmx. I agree the helmet is the worst part, and the rest nicely simple. Comparatively to the other 3 blue team.

I'll bring up the files with my friend since he unfolded/fixed issues on the helmet.

Anything I can do, you're welcome to ask. I've had probably more hands-on time with the Halo 5 models than anybody else, you're welcome to use me.

You say that, but I'm not looking forward to the back pods on the Argus torso. I'd like to try my hand at assembling the rest of the helmet, but those sensor pieces make my fingers hurt just to look at them - plus, I can't seem to find the right grade of cardstock in these parts, which makes things more difficult. Complex parts are hard to work with when you're using card that's a little too thick and stiff for your liking, and the glue isn't helping matters.

I'll bring up the files with my friend since he unfolded/fixed issues on the helmet.

As I said, anything I have you're welcome to use. I have a handplate file up in the Archive that's reasonably (reasonably) straightforwards.

I'm going to implore your help then, thank you for offering. I like to do VERY detailed pep so there is less guess work to do post. Take RobotChicken's build for example; I am that detail oriented sadly lack the time.

Something I decided to do yesterday is make custom spartan booties for this. So if anyone has a halo 4/5 3D model for the soles id be forever grateful. That failing I have a Kelly figure to create a sole by hand :3

The card stock I use is 65 Lb, it's what's available to me, and I make it work. The trick is super glue. Yes it is bad for me, yes I glue my fingers to everything... BUT! The Gorilla Glue 10 sec dry time is well worth the effort when working on any size area or if you need to harden any thinner tabs. This is all of course my opinion on it from experience doing lots of paper craft.

HERE's my helmet file; it does need some work sadly I had to modify the brim by hand, the connection between the left camera side and the small box thingy, and at the AI chip there is an open edge. Cheers!

PICTURES! Basically no progress. But something to add none the less. The painters tape has been holding off rondo surprisingly well... I am just slightly sad the back chip is kinda wonky.

Got you covered, Spartan.

EDIT: also, I flubbed it a bit on the measurements for that boot. Might want to reduce the scale by.... roughly half.

Homygad! Don't worry I have small feet I made to scale it down so much, thank you so much for this. Nice present to come home from work to.

You're very welcome. If there's anything else I can help with, don't be afraid to prod me.

LINDA! :D
So cool! Seriously nice to see you doing Linda costume... Everyone is doing other characters so it's very nice to see Linda coming to life! ^^

Thanks Mara! It's slowly becoming an actual feasible thing.

This is what I've been doing for the past 2 days when I've found time;

Got my head STUCK in my helmet. Now it fits like a glove. Minus there is a ridiculous amount of room in the helmet itself without liners and fans/comms.

This is going to be a long ride. except its almost half done. just need to build a bit more, carve details where needed, and make some things out of styrene/wire.

Also started bootie pep!
