Looking for recommendations on foam Noble Six

I have yet to get materials except a couple roles of eva foam and a couple fabrics. I want to make a couple additions the games don’t have like functioning cortana ai chip (functioning meaning i can put said chip prop in the slot) on the back of the Mk V and left hand/wrist cybernetic/prosthetic. Couple lights foam undersuit, possibly custom boots with my own design and some additional lights on boots/shins and shoulder pads. I have no printer or vaccum former,i would like to make this as inexpensive as i can. Like the boots/shins will be a darker grey/black. With some light going up on both sides if possible.

I wanted to know what you guys recommend for files materials and tools like vacuum former paper printer for patterns etc i am open to more additions,as long as my budget isn’t exceeded. There’s a couple props i will get too like the cortana tube to carry on my back etc

Welcome Six, glad to have you!

Please check our armory and the tutorial section, we have plenty of guides and free files!
Here is a foam FAQ thread by Fallen and RandomRanger to get you started: Foam Guide
And here is another thread about visors by the wonderful N8tebb: Dying and Chroming Visors (Cheap) TUTORIAL

We will be here to help out every step of the way, and I can't wait to see how your build turns out!

Kind regards,
Kae

Welcome!

I can say that for most of the foam work I’ve done, I’ve used the cheapest paper printer I can find, nothing fancy needed really. Making sure to print on cardstock so your patterns have some stiffness to trace!

Hope this helps in any way, and can’t wait to see your progress!

Also do you know how i could add an ai chip slot to the mark V B helm? I am looking into adding a modified hearing system that plays music or something,(connects to my phone or something

If not it will be a prop attachment
since the chip is just basically a rectangle you might be able to just cut a slot into your helmet, although I think the length of the chip might make your helmet bulky depending on the scale. The hearing aid tutorial in the index uses headphones that let you plug in a cable for music

I'd also recommend checking out other foam noble 6 builds. You'll be able to get some tips and inspiration from other people's threads. One of the most notable foam noble 6 builds on the forum is KitKatGoose 's reach build. Find it here:

I have it saved, she was the person who directed me to this site,I’ve been chatting with her about it a bit for advice on this
I just have some questions about how to get the ai chip and chip slot to fit in the helmet etc because i may have to hybrid the build there by 3d printing a slot and chip while also making sure they are the same size. With the use of this site and thingiverse or etsy, this should go well

If you are 3d printing the helmet its not very hard to modify the helmet to have or premade holes in programs like blender or cad.
One of my posts is a guide on how to do this in blender using booleans. Tutorial: Lets cut some precise 3d holes (demystifying blender) Its way more convenient to modify this stuff pre print. So having a plan and accurate measures is a great start. If its eva cutting a hole is as simple as finding a Dremel (though I would practice making the hole the way you want it on scraps). You could make a jig as well to help cut consistent lines. As far as the visors are concerned I recommend buying a resin or premade visor personally from a creator (The pricetag is well worth the lack of headache lol)
Edit: if you don't wanna mess with editing the helmet files I don't mind modifying it for ya.

I am a noob when it comes to file editing and tbh i don’t have the programs set up yet. I was thinking about combining files or something like using a thingiverse file as a base and either making a slot for it or combining it,I have been looking more into it and after watching N8TEBB’s video I am leaning more to 3d printing the helmet and making the rest out of foam like he did. Though i will have to figure out how to make the weapon props attach to the armor i will do that later. It might be too early to ask to edit files yet considering i don’t have access to my computer or a 3d printer, any help with this is appreciated,i prefer to at least give it a chance myself before asking for help with it editing it or something like that though. I will probably see if i can order resin or a premade visor once i’m sure it will match the size of the helmet. It may be a couple months before i can get started on this because of work and family, though when i get around to it,if i have trouble figuring it out,I’ll let ya know if i need help on it or something like editing the file for me

Noted, what filaments and paint/primer would you recommend for this? Was thinking about 3d print the whole armor and make a couple parts out of foam like the undersuit and cybernetic hand so i was making a list of what i would need for it.
I recommend printing anything you want in higher detail like the helmet, forearms, shoulders and props. Whatever you want to be (semi)flexible you want to be foam, that includes the chest hips, belt, legs upper arms and feet. My suit is all plastic outside the under suit and I am not mobile whatsoever. (there are ways to improve mobility with printed armor but it takes a bit of trial and error and it will almost always be heavier than eva foam)(my suit is close to 30 lbs). It takes a while to glue all the eva foam together but printing, welding, gapfilling and sanding takes a even greater time from my experience so reserving it for looks aesthetic pieces is probably smart. That's not to mention that with eva you can resize and trim the build if something comes out wrong where as printing is pretty rigid as far as resizing goes. You can warp pieces to fit differently but it can kinda look weird.
