was doing some construction work last week and I found a neat off cut and it’s now gonna be an assault rifle. Any tips or advice would be much appreciated.

jig saw to cut off most of the unused stuff, a small hand router would make good of the rest of your lines and getting really nice rounded edges. for the trigger area i would either go fine toothed jig saw and like 3 predrilled holes or a router if you really trust your self.

depending on how thick the wood is a small router bit may not be long enough.

i can see the spare materials between the trigger guard and the stock being used to finish building out the bottom of your trigger guard or the tip of your rifle.

make sure you sand it real well after all that so you don't get splinters.
