right im going with a group of mates to euro gamer and were going dressed up and im making a mark VI helm (added bonus that halo 4 is actually gonna be there :D )

got the helmet sized and ready for fiberglassing, which we have all the gear for

2 questions, should i invest in some body filler for the helmet? im guessing i should
and what do i do about the visor? as ive seen a build use a motorcycle bubble lens but i dont know if that is what i should go for or need, any help would be widely appreciated :)

will post some pictures tomorrow of fiberglassing and maybe my mates suit (mk4 iron man)

pep work looks pretty clean, so good job there! Regarding the visor, the bubble visor is what is typically used as that's how the in-game visor is formed, but I've seen some decent work using alternate visor styles. If you get creative enough, anything can work. Keep it up man!

Hey and welcome.

Nice . it fits as it seems.

I dont know i personally dont like that visor . i bought a reflecting golden one cheaper than urs. dunno if they still sell it .

Well again welcome to the community and good luck!

Thanks for the replies guys and cheers, I have a hit of perfectionist in me haha
The visor would fit its just I would prefer a reflective one for the overall effect just like the cheif himself haha, if you have the link or anything on your visor it would be much appreciated if you posted it :)

Got the first stage of fiberglassing done at the moment so I'll post a picture in a bit as I'm on my iPod haha

Almost any motorcycle helmet replacement visor which is Gold Iridium coated will work great. I'm not sure who the major suppliers are in Europe, but PigBenis' link may be a good start (though there is no picture in the listing).

Oh, and your questions about whether or not you should invest in body filler, yes, you probably should. Ultimately, it's up to you, but if you want a nice, smooth, detailed helmet, you're going to want filler.

im sorry didnt notice that the pic doesnt work!

All i can give u is this one

Oh my gosh! Thanks guys, so much help, found that visor in a uk shop on eBay for 9 pounds and 3 pounds postage so it works out cheaper than having it sent from Europe :) thanks penis man for that link haha

I'll post a few pics later and some tomorrow but I'll keep updating as soon as I get everything :)

Thanks again

Edit:
got a picture today of the fiberglassing progress, got resin on, tomorrows job is to apply the cloth and resin that then ill start to think about body filler and stuff
will attach to the first post

do you have the sizing of the visor or something alike? because i cannot find it anywhere and just need to double check the width and height of it to make sure that it will fit in :)

i know its just with a few switches you get big penis out of it so that made me chuckle haha cant wait to get this finished though, should be awesome if i dont screw up :)

don't know what you think of the idea, but for the lights down the side of the helmet i was going to use polymorph and set little circles and have them illuminated by little leds to give a clean effect, just an idea but would you recommend it?:cool

I'm not sure what polymorph is, but if it's some sort of clear bump that will be back-lit, it should work nicely. I used clear cabinet door bumps and back-lit them, and they turned out better than I had expected.

polymorph is just plastic but its molded by heating it up haha at like 60 degrees or whatever , its white but in a thin layer has a clean kinda backlit effect, if you watch the hero tuts, he uses it for the arc reactor which i am also making for a mate and his iron man costume haha, so ill have it here anyway

:)
