To anyone that may still be following this thread: Sorry for the major lack of updates, I have decided to start over using a sculpt and mold method.

I intend to make the full armor using the foam flooring method, I need to finish a helmet sculpt before so I can make sure the helmet will fit within the neck portion of the chest armor.

Man i REALLY want to make an N7 helmet. idk why, but i think it looks better with the breather =D i was hoping (when i have time) to make it so that the breather can be detached if i want just a thought i had, maybe you could do the same?
