Started the gluing process. Moving a bit slower to due my schedule. I hope to pick up the pace in the coming week!

Congrats on getting past the printing stage! I am sending my regards in advance as you move into the infamous sanding stage. Mark IV isn't as detailed as the newer sets, thankfully.

Mark IV was the first Halo helmet I printed (and is still probably my favorite). Since all of your history notes are based around Master Chief, I assume you're going to be going with the standard green paint scheme?

Also for the future helmets, you might look into Galactic Armory's files (paid Patreon subscription, but they also sell individual files on MyMiniFactory I think). My entire Mark IV set is from them and they also have a lot of the other mainline helmets. They package their files with the entire model, but also cut up in a couple of different ways for larger printers and also the Ender3-sized build plates.

Thank you very much. I will hopefully not die in the sanding process, but ya never know.

Yeah. I would love to do John's Mk IV base helmet, but since we don't know his base MK IV armor design, I settled on doing Jerome-092's helmet. So yeah green and red paint scheme.

That's good to know for the future! I will definitely look into their projects more especially when I can't find a good free file that I'm looking for. I did buy their Star Wars Clone Wars ARC trooper Phase 1.5 animated style helmet, but I still haven't printed it yet.

More progress! I started to use Loctite Super Glue Gel Control for the base gluing and JB Weld Plastic Bonder for a secondary coat, thanks to the expertise from the guys over in the 3D printing thread of the discord.

So after a really busy month I can finally get back on track. After researching and getting through a million prerequisites, I finally moved on in the process. I finished the bondo + acetone layer on the helmet.

I've finished sanding. The helmet is really smooth now. I'm now just waiting for the rain to stop so I can give it a layer of primer filler.

Started printing the Mark V helmet. Thanks MoeSizzlac for putting in a presliced version for smaller printers, that made this so much easier! I'm on piece 7 out of 12 for this print. Can't wait to start working on it!

I've almost finished printing the Mark V Gen 1 helmet. I ran out of filament and ordered some more, this time I got Red and Blue, which looks pretty cool. There was one failed print but I tried it again and the print came out just fine.

I finally was able to do the filler primer for the Mk IV helmet. I plan to paint in 2 weeks once I get back from vacation.

I finished spray painting the main base for the Mark IV helmet. I wasn't able to get a real army green, so I did multiple different greens and black and worked with range with the paint to get it to have a varied effect.

Ok! So it’s been 4 months! Progress: none

I’ve been crazy busy with my senior year workload plus applying to colleges. But after almost all of that is done. I’m going to start back up.

My next step is to paint the secondary coat. So all the greys and reds. I did some research on the ol www and found some helpful references.

I’m aiming more for HW2 style, so less grey than some of the pics. I plan to start painting tomorrow!
