After an extended absence (thanks alot work/school/moving) I've had some time to think more about the Hunter Ml.I cosplay project I started back in '09. So far it's still in the conceptual stage, (can't find very many decent refrence pics) but here's what I have so far for Ideas.

-"head" build around old bike helmet, semi-transparent orange fabric hanging from helmet acts as "neck tissue" and hides face while allowing vision

-thin bodytype requires foam padding to augment size.
*look into fan systems for ventilation

-use old skis+boots to wear/attack boot peices
*add rubber padds for traction

- cut-to-size empty plastic sprite bottles for "fuel rods" (LED detailing?)

-Figure out lightweight construction options for "cannon"

-Foam spikes for back?

that's what i've got so far, if anyone knows where I could find decent refrence pics, 3D models from Halo 1 I could open up in Cineda 4D or 3DMax, or pep files for the hunter stuff, it'd be appreciated.

Concept sketches and pose refrence/overlays to come.

Awesome, another hunter! When we both get ours done, I wish we could take a photo together, because that would be kick-butt!

I've got all kinds of reference pics from the games, depending on what you want. Which Hunter are you making? For instance, I'm working on a Reach Hunter, and I have refs for those but they're limited until the game comes out. There are plenty for Halo 3, or the older games even.

Your ideas sound great so far. Let me know which game you'll be focusing on and I can shoot you some reference photos.

sweet!, gonne be focusing on the Halo 1 or maybe halo 2 version, most of the pics I need are the underside of the shield, and pics of the cannon

Alright, sounds good. I have a lot less for those two games than I had thought, but I hope these photos help:

Another thing that would be helpful is the first series (not mcfarlane) Hunter action figures. http://www.armchairempire.com/images/action-figures/hunters.jpg I have the pair, and if you want me to take some reference pics I am willing to do that. The reason I say those is because they are pretty loyal to the Halo 2 design.

Here are some that I found on the web:

Argh. Most of them are tiny... :(

Sorry I don't have more.

these are actually great ^^ by the looks of it the arm cannon will be the easiest piece to do. I could probably jury rig a transformers arm cannon toy or splice together some plastic containers to form the base for the weapon, maybe cardboard for the shield core.

There you go! And if you need any more help with this just give me a buzz. I can't wait to see the finished project.

will do. though it may take awhile, currently living in an apartment so full construction won't be for awhile
