Rock Lobbster I think this is a record for me! Two updates in my own thread in one month!

I wrapped up thrusters on the back piece last night! I also attached the Cobra Buckles on the sides. All thats left to tackle now is the collar section which will be freehanded.

Major props to master_colt_117 for providing a ton of references for this piece. You're a mad man! I don’t know how you’ve built this so many times. I love how mine turned out, but I’m pretty sure I hated the construction process

Turned out great man!! And yes there is a ton of detail on these things! You should be getting close to a full suit up soon! I'm currently working on some new pieces for my suit right now that should take it to the next level.. im just slow at progress! LOL

All we have left to do now is the collar on the armor, the undersuit sections and the boots.

I finished the collar area and had my roommate do a quick suit up for us. He is shorter and not as bulky as my customer so the fit isnt 100%. I still may add some panels under the arm to fill in some negative space.

MrJamin - I am glad you asked! I took a page from EVAkura 's book, and with the guidance of good ole' TurboCharizard did the following process!

80 Grit Rough Sand
High Gloss, 30 secs, light High-Fill Auto Body Filler Primer
120 Wet Sand
High Gloss, 30 secs, light High-Fill Auto Body Filler Primer
220 Wet Sand
High Gloss, 30 secs, light High-Fill Auto Body Filler Primer
320 Wet Sand
High Gloss, 30 secs, light High-Fill Auto Body Filler Primer
600 Wet Sand
High Gloss, Cure overnight
600 Wet Sand
Black High Gloss, cure and dry 24 hours.

EDIT: I will also add I actually used no Bondo Spot Putty/Filler for either of these. Just got really good quality prints off my CR-10s Pro (His name is Archie) and went from there! These were both printed at 0.15 mm with a brim and supports on the underside

EDIT2ELECRICBOOGALO: Can this still be considered a foam build, or is it now a Hybrid build?

Dang. That is so smooth I was sure you did an acetone smoothing. Did you print in PLA, or some other material?

Printed in ESUN PLA+! Just expressed very careful planning and care when sanding. if you are too rough while wet sanding it can actually put dents in the gloss coats or cut into it, since its not fully curing till later in the process technically
