Music While You Game

I can't listen to music while playing Halo. It's distracting, I need to hear explosions and other audio cues to help me win.

Hmm. I haven't played Live on anything for so long. But thinking about it, i'd have to say...

Pretty much anything from Switchfoot, U2, Flyleaf, Daft Punk, Justice, anything off the GH2/RB/RB2 track list, some Modest Mouse, Paramore, CCR, or anything with a good beat. haha. I'll try to think of a more detailed list later.

Well if I can hear my music over my Halo gaming and my screaming/cursing fits, I can usually DESTROYYYYYYYY everyone mad hardcore with death metal...the harder the song the better i play...it might be that whole "KILLKILLKILL!!!" thing but....whatever helps eh?

to narrow it down, i usually have Iniquity, Dimmu Borgir, Dragonlord, or Behemoth on, plus a few random song playlists that are literally titled "Halo Pwning Music" :]

The sound score and the explosions/gunfire that are going on during the game. That's what I PWN your punkass to. That's right kids, I can kill you with sheer force of will!

in any game I play no matter what style racing fps action I like to listen to the ambient noise of the game it helps me visualize being there. There is no rush better then playing a fps with 5.1 surround and a 32 inch monitor. feeling the bass of the explosions and the sound of your enemy approaching. who needs extra distraction.

lol I listen to really unfitting music cause its funny. things like Mama Cass while playing dead space( since I was playing it on an 8 1/2 foot wode home theater screen in the dark at night by my self with no visible lights on ) and Petula Clark while playing halo. With the new update though, my 16 GB USB stick wont work cause its too big :/

I cant listen to songs while playing Cod4...When youre sniping and dont have enough claymores to cover all of your entrances then you tend to pay careful attention to footsteps

Unranked: Heaviest metal I can find just to keep me awake, usually stuff you've never heard of.

Ranked vs 40&below: Mozart, Rachmaninov, or some other fun classical. Bach and Pachbell are too cheery for me, have to make sure my gun isn't shooting sunflower seeds so it's distracting.

Ranked vs 40&above (a playlist I could win in my sleep with all bones broken, ie- DT or Snipers): Coldplay or Radiohead, maybe some Eagles.

Ranked vs 40&above (Slayer, Skirmish): If we're winning I like to listen to the pitch of my team mate's voices... it's entertaining... and a reason why people often have one sided conversations with me. XD

...I'm not as messed up as I sound, I just don't believe you can have taste in metal and hardcore without taste in classical and softcore ha ha.

I rarely ever listen to music.

I'm definitely not you're typical metal head though... I had to stop head banging a long time ago cause I have a bad back, I don't drink or smoke, I'm not messy (stupid OCD), I prefer getting in a tux and going to a resort over having 100 dB's and a synthesizer blasted into my face (usually).

BAH! I give Cannibal Corpse credit because they were one of the first Death Metal bands but compared to whats out nowadays, they just arnt that Heavy. And IMO Arch Enemy is Hard Rock (dont get me wrong, i do like some of their stuff), and the other two and Origin are eh. Ive heard Heavier lol.

And i'll check out the others on my lunch break ^^

Lol, go Rise Against. I tried playing Halo while listening to Hero of War (from Appeal to Reason, the new album)... nope, couldn't do it. Not only because it's acoustic, but because of what the words are, lmao.
