Well its a giant shed ... like seriously massive, theres tractors and stuff in it, and once everyone leaves for the night it should be fine, I'll stay out of everyones way so they dont suffer from fiberglass poisoning haha and then turn the heater on for a few hours and chill for a while, turn it off when I leave and hope Ireland doesnt flood lol

These guys are giving good advice. You can get a good organic respirator for about 30 euros on eBay. I know it's alot for a face mask but you get to live your life with out meds or breathing apparatus. Best thing I bought as most of the mediums I have bought require one.

As for drying time in this climate it's not too bad. I have a work shop with no heating and if I resin a piece before bed it's set by morning.

Yay my currency!!! *my DOOMED currency* lolz, I shall ask around, the guys in the shed paint tractors with sprayers and stuff so they might have respirators, Paint gives off fumes right? I dont think they use respirators at all tbh O_O oh dear

Not all paints are toxic but tbh I always wear my mask now if I find anything I am using smells nice

I'm looking into getting an ORGANIC respirator (you guys recommended them types right?) but I dunno which to buy D:

In diy stores here (in the country, I havent gone as far as the city :/ no point really) they have dust masks for like sanding and stuff but I dont see any proper respirators, Im also a little anxious about buying online incase they arent as safe as sellers might speculate, yknow how dodgy things on the web can be.

Do you gyus have any guidelines or standards or something for byuing respirators? Are there different degrees of protection on the things? I wanna make sure I buy a suitable one. FOr now I'm gonna finish my web design assignment and get cracking on more pep work instead of fiberglassing the helmet tonight/tomorrow.

I had a bit of extra cash and bought one from Homebase so was £40 (bit expencive but knew I got something Officially tested). Most respirators should be fine, I am no expert at all. But I do know that it's the filter that matters. You just need to make sure they are gunna protect you from organic fumes.

Would check out the make of mine but am away with the family atm. If you don't find out by the time I'm home will send you more info.

Misty chilled out lol, she was like "Sup Bro" when I put it on, just sittin there chillin like aboss in a helmet B-) shes so awesome lol, but if I put the helmet on her brother Smurf he'd have a chipmunk and flip out

I think my cat is skitzafrenic. if you walk up behind him he'll spaz and sprint off in a random direction. and he claws me when i put armor on him

DOnt torture the poor cats lol, my Misty is so relaxed its rediculous, when I pick her up she goes all flopy, but shes a part Maine Coon and those are very relaxed cats apparently, shes also a whopper of a cat, big fuzzy fatso xD hahaha

Lads I'll get up pictures once I resin this gonna start pep on the chest piece though, probs gonna have trouble with the scale but I'll give it a whirl and post updates when I finish

Hey guys!!! Back again, I have had a brilliant day!!! I got my Moi-Meme-Moitie skirt in the mail from Japan today!!! Isnt it fabulous!!!

Who said Spartan's cant be stylish ;P

ANyway, constume change, to add to my brilliant day I not only found a cheaper place to buy fiber glass and bondo/body filler, but I got all the safety gear I need!!!

So tadaaaa my new outfit lol

Might get my fiberglass done tonight, the weather is pretty poor though, damp and cold, may need to use a heater or something, even if I wait till tomorrow the weather may still be horrible but I could start earlier in the day :/ I'll keep you posted on what I do anywayz

Okay guys, I've done a little fiberglassing on the helmet this morning, thank you to the guys and gals on here who ensured I had correct safety gear (I am in infinite debt to you guys SAFETY FIRST) and to my uncle who is letting me borrow a part of his shed to work from. He and my cousins repair tractors etc at the far end, and the end I'm in is used to store old parts and turf (Irish fuel for burning on fires, google it). HEre come the pics!!!

The resin work on the helmet looks good! When does more pictures come?

The pepwork of the chest is absolutely awesome too! When do you think you will be ready for resining the chest?

Im going back to the "freeeeezing cold" shed to do more resin on the helmet, I think it should be dry now, even though its cold I left it to set for ages, so I'll finished the outside resin layer, then tomorrow I might do the fiberglass inside and possibly another layer of resin outside to really toughen it up.
I work on the chest piece at night and during breaks but its pretty big and pretty high details so it could take another day or two or three to finish the pep on it, then I'll resin that too see Im back in college on Monday so this will start to slow down a tonne till wednesday nights and thursday mornings and weekends ... But I'll keep putting in some work here and there.

Once the resin is set I'll post another pic of the helmet, and if I do more of the chest I'll post it asap
