My first ODST helmet

I just got my visor in yesterday, though it seems like it’s too big to fit into my helmet. Especially with the very front of it. Anyone have any advice on what to do to get it to fit. (The second photo is the visor compared to the size of the helmet.)

How flexible is the plastic (without straining it)? If you put it in through the bottom of the helmet and push it forward, is it a loose fit still?

It's flexible around the ends but around the middle (the part I'm most having trouble with) it seems pretty rigid. I have thought about maybe taking a heatgun to it and maneuvering it to fit that way, but I'm not sure if that's a good idea.

Is it possible to put the visor on the inside of the helmet and just let the extra be covered by the helmet?

It’s not an issue of extra material. The middle part of the visor is too rigid and it won’t fit into the front curves on the helmet.

Update: Sorry for the long pause between posts. Life got in the way. But on with the helmet.
With the help of my friend (and a LOT of fighting with the visor), we FINALLY got the visor in.
Next step is inserting some foam so that it sits properly and touching up a few spots on the paint job. But I plan on working on this over the next few days so that I can debut this at Anime St. Louis in less then 2 weeks.

I know that people have made stuff like that. Some even make stuff on Etsy specifically for airsoft, but hell yeah! That sounds like fun! Why not give it a try?

Hello, please note that here at the 405th we do NOT discuss the use of our costumes for airsoft, paintball, or as protective gear in any fashion. Any further posts about using your costume in this fashion will be removed and warnings might be issued.

Will do. Thanks for letting me know.

Foam has been inserted.
I know there’s a gap between the visor and the helmet, but the helmet was too narrow for the visor that was made so we had to take a heat gun and make it more malleable. But after some epoxy, foam fillers, and work we go it to a good workable state.

I. am. so. sorry. My bad please excuse my ignorance I am kinda dyslexic and skim through rules and I must have not caught it. I’m sorry. I feel dumb…

Finally debuted not only the helmet but the whole suit too. Need to install a fan and maybe get both a sound amplifier for my voice and get some kind of headphones or earpiece so that I can hear better inside the helmet.
(If anyone has any recommendations or suggestions on that, that would be greatly appreciated.)
