My Grunt Costume From Halloween 04

I finally found the only picture of my grunt costume i made in 2004 for Halloween. I was 12 when i made this. It is made of foam blocks I got online, nee-pads and a life jacket. mostly biased of halo CE grunts because other references were still limited.

Oh My God !

hahaha I love this ! Very creative for a 12 year old. When I was 12 I think I still played with barbies(LOL), not out making cool Grunt costmes!

halo pc was life back then, almost seemed normal to be making one. The "what are u suppose to be" questions that people asked when trick-or-treating were fun. "oh im a grunt from halo" followed by blank stares.

Wow! I most certainly wasn't that talented, determined, or creative when I was twelve. (Admittedly, my little bro was working on his ODST at 12, but you made an entire scratch-built suit.) I always laugh and give extra candy to the kid who made a costume like you did. The more obscure, the better (but no body should have been questioning your suit in 04 :lol .)

Kudos to you for taking a life jacket and making it into Grunt armor, thats a new one and a pretty damn good costume as well for something from 2004. How did you make the hands and what did you use for a gun? And I would love to know where you were able to find big blocks of foam at since I went looking a while back to do a Space Marine suit but could'nt find squat.

Anyways, pretty cool! I don't think I even knew what Halo was when I was 12... And if I recall, I think I was the Grim Reaper for Halloween. For the second time in a row.

the arms and back are both cut foam, i think its the same kind used for mattresses, but it was also sold in thick toobs (arms) so im not sure. the cun was made from some sort of soft white clay that i ran wires through to the grip for the light with a small button trigger. i still have the gun somewhere.
