1st Build ODST Backpack

I am working on an ODST cosplay and need help with the backpack. I want to make it functional to use it as a backpack for cons or other props so it should be durable and carry around 3-4 kg on top of its own weight and be durable enough for every day use / be resistant for outdoor weather and cleanable while still having this plated armor appearance. My first thought was to print it out of nylon (nylon cf?) and use regular backpack straps to hold it. Can I get your opinions?

Did you say "every day use" ? Like you're going to use it every day as your normal backpack for school, work, laptop etc?
I know Galactic Armory ODST backpack is hollow with holes modeled in for straps.

For that pack I think I've seen a couple others that have working lids on top.

I went with the radio operator pack (Mickey pack) with opening doors on the face (shown here before the doors went on)
