Achille, the flag's design is the same as the coffin graphic, just with some text on the top of the pod. (looked like a battalion number?) Also, there's another flag hanging up in the background right before the flag folding at the start.

Yeah, I'm using the coffin to help see the basic shape, and the flag for the details. Do you have a high enough quality clip to see the details on the background flag? All mine gives me is a general outline of the design, and not a very good one at that...

Who else needs to make that flag?

I don't have anything that hasn't already been up here, and the background flag is useless for detail. But, it is a good, straight-on shot for rough size and scale ideas.



As for flag specifics, the red cloth looks very heavy and thick and almost glossy (especially the scrap over the grave), kinda like a velvet? Anyone else have ideas?

They are speaking Hungarian. While other marines are speaking english.



Only ODST speaks hungarian.

The Marines are meant to speak a form of Russian, says Rupert Sanders during an interview, a language not commonly seen or used previously in the Halo universe. He said that the Russian language better reflects the tough training the ODST's have to go through. He acknowledges that the Marines actually speaks a form of Hungarian, but for all sense and purpose, in canon they are considered to speak Russian

I'd guess 100% Woven polyester, for three reasons. One, that's what is commonly used to make flags. Two, it has the same type of fold creases. Three, the ripped part of the ODST flag is very frayed, but there is another part that looks melted. 100% woven polyester melts, and also frays like no other when ripped.



As for the thickness, they probably doubled the layer of red fabric.



EDIT: Woah, Belakor. Nice. Only criticism is the fact that the flag doesn't have devil horns, but you are probably aware of that.

i found out what language it is! its hongarian! here is what they say



starting from the beginning: " Present arms!" "FIRE!" next scene where trainer yells " We are ODST!" during obstacle course "Do you want to die?! Do you?! Faster! Go go go!" after the battle the song says "And my army of brothers went over the hilltops, drenched in blood we may be.... but fighting is all left to me....together with my army of brothers...down we fall....darkness in all..through hell!"

Wished the actuall game would be more like this. Pretty awsome, dont like the helmet model they used. Looked a lot more toyish and design was off from the in-game model. Smaller than the weta helmet though (which was huge)

I dunno, I thought the Helmet was pretty key-on. The only thing that bugged me was how diminutive the MA5C's looked in the Marines' hands at the beginning.

ok i got confused when trying to find out who every one in the vid was.I know these are the characters from the game.OK first off,the guy in the coffin,SSGT Stark,who is he?,im guessing the other guy at Starks funeral is Tarkov and it follows him through training and his drop,then he gets hit by the brute,but is the guy at the end with the scares Tarkov?,who died at the end,and whos the other guy at the end with the blond hair and the scared $#!Tess look on his face?????

I'm pretty sure this short was to show the progression of an ODST. It first shows Tarkov, a newbie, at a funeral. He is startled just by the sound of the guns shooting.

Skip past the training to the drop. He is face to face with a Brute, basically about to die. He has some emotion about it, you can tell, but is holding it in, keeping a neutral face.

Now, in kind of a full circle, there is a funeral at the end. I don't think we know who died, since this is obviously farther in the future (Tarkov's hair has grown out a bit, and he just looks older). The blond hair is another newbie ODST; you can see how he jumps when there is an explosion, whereas Tarkov has no emotion about him at all. It's implying that all ODST's start off "human", but eventually get battle-hardened and impassive.



IMHO, at least.
