Thanks for your comments guys!

Alright, so its been cooling down a bit but not to the point i would like, still that desert weather. This being the case i haven't been able to resin that much, just a little bit in the evenings. So since i promised you some progress pics a while back (sorry it's been too long) here ya go.

Alright so as you can see i have done about 30% of the resining. This has been rather disappointing because i'm not trying to dilly dally. I want progress, and now! Basically, i have been working on the smaller things to pep, working my way up, because i only have about 10-15 minutes to do so. I am going to do the helmet last, that way i have done somewhat of a good "practice". I could easily remake the small warped stuff. If anybody has anything to say i'd love to hear it.

Alright, Does anybody want me to start another paragraph with Alright? *face palm* lol

Glad to see you're still alive! I need to get back to my thread...

It all looks good! If you have a heat gun or a really hot hair dryer you can probably bend those warped pieces to how you want them. Keep it up, even if the weather does suck!

Wow. Love the shin type on this model! and pep work looks great :D cant wait to see how this turns out!

Special video update!!!

So nobody thought to tell me the website is back? Lol :p

So guys, i got some serious stuff done while the cats where away. The weather has been in the hundreds up until last week, that being the case i finally got to resin the last few days. Before i go further, here's the video!!!

Pardon all the mistakes i made, it's my first video....

So as you can see from the video the resin is done, completely! I'm so dang excited! I'm actually going to do the rest of the build pretty quickly now that the weather is nice. So thanks for all your comments guys, i love them, and want to here more! Lol. And if anybody knows how to make the video window be on my page, let me know plz.

Anyways, Thanks for the great experience so far!

FIBERGLASS DONE

Hey guys, so i've been working hard the past few days and managed to crank out some decent fiberglassing. So ya, 100% done with fiberglass so will start bondo (maybe) tomorrow. I'm going to be busy with my build and plan on having EVERYTHING DONE BY FRIDAY OCTOBER 26TH! So stay tuned, because this is hell weak for my armor building. Hoorah. I have ordered a picatinny rail, gloves (you know the ones), and a SICK medic leg pack. Also a big shout out to Jimmy Da Moose! He has pulled an amazing visor for me. I'll have everything but the visor by the 22nd, so i will show you my stuff then. In the meantime check out deez pics of my mad fiberglassing skillz dawgs. (LOL) And don't worry, i will clean everything up next!

Hey guys, thanks for the comments. I need a response really quickly. It just rained here! My parts where outside, i moved them into my garage as quickly as i could but some of them are wet! What can i do to save the wet parts??????? Normally i would research any questions but this is an emergency!!!!!

The water shouldn't do anything unless it was freshly laid fiberglass. Probably hotboxing the pieces would cover the spectrum of problems, but really you have to remember that fiberglass is primarily used for boat and car repair - it is pretty much water proof once it's cured, so it depends on how long ago you laid the resin (I'm assuming that's what you were doing last with it)

I laid the fiberglass 2 days ago, so i think i'll be alright! I was just worried because it seemed a bit damp. But it's looking fine now. Now that you mention that it's used for car and boat repair i feel i lot better.

UPDATE:
I've bondoed a few parts so tomorrow i will be posting progress pictures tomorrow of them. Thanks guys

Where did you get that com unit?? It is a pepakura file right? I have been searching it a while but couldnt find any!! Please!!

UNFORTUNATE UPDATE:(

Hey guys, its been too long. Last month, about 2 weeks before Halloween, I was working as hard as I could to try to finish my armor before Halloween. Well, that didn’t happen. I was about half way through the bondo stage when I realized that with the time I still had, I couldn’t actually complete it. So with a few profanities and some throwing away of parts, I basically quit. I literally spent all my free time, for two weeks, on the armor and just couldn’t do any more. It was so demoralizing that I couldn’t really look at my armor until last week. But from this I’ve learned a few things, and I certainly won’t make the same mistakes again.

This aside, I recently have started bondo again, and I’m almost done with that. Just a few pieces more and I’ll be done. But since I kinda rushed the bondo stage when trying to make my Halo-ween deadline, the bondo on a few parts are really sloppy. So I have my work cut out for me on these parts. Unfortunately, I didn’t do such a good job on the helmet, which I want to look amazing. I think I know how I’m going to fix my parts though but if any of you have any tips on sanding bad bondo jobs and such feel free to help me out ;) So when I’m done with sanding and bondo I’ll post more pictures, until then, here’s the parts I feel I did the worst on.

Take it slow when you sand. Let the grit do the work and attack the peaks first. It also helps to shave them down with a sharp blade if you have one. Also, a power sander will work wonders.

I hope this helps, cheers!
