This is some excellent work my friend.

All the patience and hard work put into the pep will pay of in the end.

I hope to see more of your work soon!

Hello. I pepped two pieces today, both being chest pieces, and one being scaled ridiculously small. The other is a bit small, but It should be sufficient.

Also, I've decided to walk the path of non-toxicity :p

Not completely, but mostly. I'm going to pep my armor stuff, then use a sealer to make it so the paper mache doesn't destroy the armor, then after a couple of coats, I'll use polyfilla (replacing bondo) and detail/sand it, then paint it, still using spraypaint.

EDIT: YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AFTER HAVING LOST IT FOR 3 YEARS, I FOUND HALO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Apparently, my sister had the Halo: Combat Evolved CD-Rom sitting in her room for years but I got it back, and got some mod podge from her room, which I found out is a suitable sealer. Will post pics of both (halo and armor) later.

Hello, and welcome to the DREAM CRUSHING UPDATE OF DESTRUCTION! Why is this update so dream crushing? Well, as you can see in my signature, and have seen for a while now, it shows a completed shin piece. The truth is, I just finished it. Before it had like 1 piece missing from it, but now, it is completely officially finished. Pics.

Have fun with the support pieces....

lol i'm not putting them in. somehow the idea of gluing in a billion triangular prisms that will get in my way while fiberglassing/hot gluing/paper macheing doesn't seem so appealing. besides, the tape helps it keep its form.

Anyway, SUPER PROGRESS UPDATE!!!

I made a new chest piece , sealed it, paper mached it, then sealed it again. I'll probably do one more layer of paper mache then some hot glue or something like that.

Oh god... Please don't use tape as support! The struts are there to help you keep the right width for the parts so the two parts fit perfectly together. If you're not sure what strut go where, I suggest using Pepakura designer to check out where the struts are located on the model. They aren't directly connected to the Model, so you'll have to split the struts to identify them. Always make sure that the struts are kept on the same location on the 2D view.

That doesn't really apply with paper mache... Paper mache is flexible enough that you can bend it, so you don't have to worry about widths/angles, etc...

Anyway, SURPRISE UPDATE <|:D (guy with party hat, like a surprise party...erm.. I don't know where I'm going with that...)

Anyway, I've been working on a secret project...meet the Nitefinder/Recon hybrid SMG mod!

[attachment=10367:DSC00732.JPG][attachment=10368:DSC00725.JPG]

I hven't really been working on the actual SMG that much, I've mostly just been working on the stock. (partially stolen from the recon) My plan is to make something like this except I'm using the Nerf Nitefinder EX3 for the gun part. (btw I don't know much about guns so sorry if I don't know all the names for things)

That's pretty much all for now but I got some money from dog walking (torture) so I'll be able to get some new filters for my respirator and get back to fiberglassing, and even start bondo-ing maybe. I'll probably use rondo on the SMG. Goodbye.

Small question... lmao does anyone have any idea whatsoever on how to scale grunt armor (found some on the costuming wiki) if I find out how to scale it then a new member might be joining the project... although in an un-ODST related way...

In case anyone needs it, the grunt download thingy.

small update/question... helm:

[attachment=10641:DSC00740.JPG]

Almost half pepped

[attachment=10642:DSC00750.JPG]

ODST knee with 1 layer of bondo, and 1 layer of polyfilla. I'm using bondo from now on, polyfilla isn't quit strong enough.

[attachment=10643:DSC00755.JPG]

Chest with 2 layers of paper mache, and 1 layer of fiberglass + cloth.

did I do that right?

Also, do I have to do the back thing for the ODST? in all the creenshots I see, it's not visible >.>

i agree with him. the tape is only going to keep it from moving outwards, not inwards. if you dont want to use the paper supports then you dont have to, but id suggest using something hard. popsicle sticks are a very good alternative. just cut them to size and either tape or hot glue them in.

Finally, an update! Not too big of an update, but just thought I'd let you know I'm still working on my armor. I know I said I was going to make hip plates, but I didn't feel like it. So, I made a thigh and another knee.

Edited for non upside down pixzszes.

Sorry for the double post, just wanted to mention that I'm still working on the helmet atm. I haven't really done much since, because of the fact that I've been working on the thigh, but I've got the ear piece pretty much completely pepped now.

i used the fiberglass mat on my first weta odst helmet and it turned out terrible. im scraping it and starting over. going to use cloth.

Today I wanted to make the backpack for my ODST, but I fubared it, so I scrapped it. Here's what happened to the scrap:
