tl;dr, it's a near transparent (after polishing) material that withstands temperatures up to 2150 fahrenheit, harder than glass, and the military is using it for armored vehicles.

Visor material, the only thing about it is it costs around 10-15 dollars per square INCH. (As of 2005)

Technically not pure aluminum, but yeah... that'd make a great EVA visor, it's moldable, is probably stronger than the Bondo the rest of the armor is made of... etc.

Does the "make and paint your own visor" tutorial work on transparent Al though?

They actually make transparent ABS or HIPS (High Impact Polystyrene) that if someone wanted to make a EVA visor all that would be needed is a buck and a oven to mold over the buck to make it then all you have to do is the paint your own visor tutorial.
