Pepakura or EVA Foam?

I'm so confused. Which one is easier and faster to do? Also, how do i make visors. I have no clue where to start

Pepakura is harder and more time consuming than EVA foam and for a beginner i'd probably suggest EVA foam. I'd try both though because it's different for different people. I'd start by reading through this thread: http://www.405th.com/showthread.php?t=10744. It'll get you up and running. As for the visor people tend to use motorcycle visors but i wouldn't worry about that just yet.

thanks for responding. I actually have started with pepakura. I have half of the Master Chief's armor made. I just wondered what would be easier. Plus i dont want to go through with the resin and bondo

I'm new as well and started and created an EOD Halo Reach helmet via the pepakura method, and I've had alot of trials and errors with the Resin process and especially applying and smoothing the Bondo. As for visors, I had no idea as well when I was making my helmet but after looking around a bit more a couple months later, I've seen lots of people use different methods.

It's just up to you.
For some people Pepakura is harder, for others EVA foam.
Pepakura is definitely more expensive and way more time consuming.
I've went with Pepakura and I love it - it's easier for me, even if it's so much more time consuming. However, working with foam is so much frustrating for me, because I can't do something as good as I'd like, so it's so hard and so frustrating. :/

I'd say - try both ways out.

I am about to start my first foam build and have done plenty of research to learn as many techniques as possible. I like the idea behind foam because its quick and cheaper, but at the same time i'm worried it wont be as durable. But like Marawuff said, go with what you think would be fun. No ones perfect at first, I trashed my first pep suit because I rushed. So experiment a little bit and try it out!

Thanks to all of you guys and your opinions. I currently have half of the chiefs suit made from paper. I just get bored too fast and when i put it down, it becomes warped and folded up. I figured the foam would stay in shape forever basically.
