Plasma Grenade...

I have sketched out a fairly reasonable approximation of a plasma grenade assembly, as well as elctronic internal circuits...

However, the minimum order I can purchase for the outer casing is 500 units at $3.75 each, and that would give me $1875.00 investment and 500 clear/frosted, hollow put together spheres...

making the grenades and assemblying the circuitry is simple, but having 500 Plasma grenades, lol, would be a bit ridiculous, if only they really blew up I blow the two grand, but...

If anyone knows of another resource where I can purchase a smaller quantity of 5"-6", hollow, clear/frosted, put toggther spheres, I would love the help finding them.

You should figure out how to make them actually blow up, and not like regular explosions. You should completely out-do Halo and rig them with low yield nuclear warheads, I'd say a kiloton or so should do for a small handheld grenade.

Tonight on the eveding new with Peter Jennings, Texas Engineer and avid video game player turns small time armor crafter, takes his hobby a bit far, and creates actuall explosives based upon the ill advice of another armor crafter, and destroyed his home, and his neighbors homes as well, ful story tonight at 9... I can see it now, my family would be so embarassed.. lol

Seriously, anyone got clear balls.... no pun intended

Its to small, good approximation if you just wanted an off the shelf item, but a Plasma nade is 15.2 cm, or about 6" in diameter. Scale it to my suit and that would be about 5 1/8" almost twice the size of that laser level...

True - but I doubt you will find something as close in size, color, and lighting effect as this one...plus its easier to carry adn conceal :)

I'd say buy 500 of them and sell them for 5 bucks each, heck, make the grenades and sell them to make a profit.

All small businesses have to start somewhere ;).

Building armor and props is a hobby, plus my being Engineering job pays a bit better I Think ; )

Closest I have found so far is 4" acrylic ornament balls, anyone find 5" let me know. Besides that, if I were to sell them, $5 would barely cover the material, with no time added.

When I do make one, I will post a picture... and the laser level will feel jealous...

Clear acrylic hemispheres (same supplier of domes for laser tag sensors I posted last week)

or build your own vacuum forming table and mold sheets of a dozen hemispheres at a time -- you can even do to it in transparent blue acrylic. Regal Plastics up on your side of town has the sheets.

your dimensions do seem a little big, don't the grenades fit in the palm of the hand?

C'mon....just do it :D

I have found innumerable locations to purchase these hollow spheres, at 4 inches and smaller, but nothing in the range I am looking for, 5"-6", still looking, and creating my own sphere would yeild exactly what I specify, but not time or cost effective for what I want to create.

That was in inspiration for my plasma nade, but they were to small... I think I found a suitable christmas ornament that will work.... but back to garage to finish fiberglassing...

Ever tried throwing a lightbulb? Those aren't very sticky... or explosive. They do make a really cool sound though.

Florescent tube bulbs make a pretty cool sound when thrown like a spear and broken.... lol.... but whats your point

Id say just simply moddify a powerball, theyre close to the size and i know you could change the led's inside if you wanted to.

Mabey make a mold. Like make the size mold it. Then...hmm how can you make it clear? If you did that then put a light in it and close it would work but i dont know how to do that.
