One of the first things I've always done since I was younger when handling a helmet replica, has always been looking inside, for the hopes of seeing "what's going on in there." Naturally, thats something I hope to do with an MC helmet in the future. I initially had found walking through the Hardrock Casino that some of the machines were using very cool LCD tech, which I was searching for now.
However, I've only heard of this mentioned briefy awhile back, I've come across a vid of this. It's the OLED. Although not entirely available yet, I can foresee this becoming pretty popular in the future. The flexibility of the plastics made can be used to form the inner curve of a helmet visor, and the point that makes it even more remarkable, it dosn't require it's own light source, and creates everything itself. I see ALOT of potential for this tech in the Halo prop world.
Someone with good enough computer programing skills could produce game-accurate HUD displays, even little things, like when you turn it on, the "flash" of the grids appear and dissappear. Or you can even display a target reticle that can be tracked with a motion sensor to your AR prop.
Can't wait to see this stuff made to the public.
