Torso is next, but sadly there has not been much progress, too much going on at work and at home, plus I have been not feeling well. And......I have ultimately decided to use JediFraz's pep files this time around. I know it is old school, but I have 2 months to get this done for a convention, and with my time being the way it is, I won't be able to do high def. After the show in May, I am going to work on High def, since I will be out of crunch mode by then and have more time.

Awesome! So, I won't be the only one to go about my armour build this way, after all. *Phew!*

Btw, let me know when you're at the point to add in those helmet details, and I'll send you copies of the templates I drafted ;)

So here is my finished torso, the pics kinda suck, sorry! Again, I hot glued the tabs and then used scotch tape on the outside for extra hold.

I do see that one of the tabs in the back came unglued, I have fixed that! :)

Awesome! That looks like it'll be a perfect fit, girl! I'm definately liking that. You're making some really good progress, so far! Keep it up! (y)

I hope so, lol. I had to take off 2 inches since I am skinny and built like a girl, lol. Moving on to the "briefs" next, lol.

Kewl... compared to the size and complexity of some of the other armour pieces, you should have that done in no time! I'd say, definately less than half a day, lol :D

Yeah, half a day sounds right, lol, if I can just get off my butt and do it! :p

That looks really good! I mean, for being low detail, its actually clean and neat!

I recommend you try the higher detail stuff, at least the ones by robogenisis, they seem to be a bit easier than the HD stuff, with the details you need.

keep up the good work! :D

Well, as she said in the following post:

Hence why she's going with the low-detail Pep files for the time being. Given she has another convention she wants to attend prior to DragonCon, she's kinda on a tight schedule to get this done.

I do believe she'll be working on a high-detail suit after this convention is over and done with, though.

Besides, she'll be adding a lot of the details as she goes along, so it won't be so low-detail when she's done with it... ;) heh

I am fully planning on making the HD stuff, I have a convention in May that I am wearing this to, and with time constraints due to work and personal stuff, I won't have time to do HD. But after the show is over, I will have a year to make the HD armor for the next show!! I can't wait to get started on that. I consider making this suit as kind of a test run on the entire process! :)

Yeah... what she said... lol

This will be a great way to figure how to do the HD stuff, girl. As much as I'm looking forward to seeing this one done, the next one's going to be absolutely killer! :D

She hasn't resined/fiberglassed anything yet. She's just working on getting all the Pep pieces put together first. What you see is what she's got, so far. Still got a bit of a ways to go with all that. But, she is definately making pretty fast work of it, heh. We should see some resined/fiberglassed pieces soon enough, I'd imagine...

Torso looks great! Have you had a chance to resin anything yet or are you just constructing pieces?
Haven't resined or fiberglassed anything yet, it is still too cold. I was warm this week, but we are supposed to get 6 inches of snow this weekend! Grr.... So, now I am just getting all the pieces put together for now, and then when it gets a bit warmer (or at least not snowing) I will get cracking! :)

This cursed, cold winter weather really makes it difficult to get any of that sort of work done, doesn't it? :p lol

Hopefully, that day is not too far off, then. I'm obviously not the only one here eager to see you resin/fiberglass all this...

Have you given any thought as to how you'll be adding the finer details? Will you be using sheet styrene, cardboard? You know, that sort of thing... o_O
