Unfortunately for me my budget disappeared. So I had to make due with the paint I have on hand. Basically The Shredders colour scheme is the similar to my ODST. Lol.
Also my idea of LEDs is gone too.
So anyways base colours are down, nest is black wash and some minor weathering.
Also I need to make a simple sash to wrap around the waste. I may attempt to make one or just find a really long scarf.

So this build is going to involve my first attempt a making soft parts and sewing. I need to make a sash/belt that will wrap around a couple of times and then tie off. I have some cheap white material to use. I don't have a sewing machine. I have one of these little dealies though....

I have been looking up a couple of tuts and definitions of some of the terminology like "whip stitch".

Tiny little update. Like I mentioned before trying my hand a putting together a sash/belt thing. First thing I did was sew two sections of material together to make it long enough. Stitched them together using a whip stitch. Boy is it ugly. My stitches are terrible. Lol.
Luckily I used white thread so it not too visible.

The whole thing still needs to be sown (sp?) and flipped inside out but, I just wanted to see how it looks on the suit.

At the start, the stitches were inconsistently placed. By the end they were starting to get better.

UPDATE : Halloween is around the corner and this build is almost done. Paint is now complete. Today I did some detailing. Mix of wash, dry brush and dabbing with a paper towel.

Next is to finish the dreaded belt... *shiver*

The Shredder is done! The sash/belt was unfortunately not completed by me. The Handy stitch was complete piece of junk and broke only a couple of stiches in. Luckily my In Laws have a sewing machine and they finished it up for me.
Sadly I was not able to do the black veil and red LED light for the eyes.

Now it's time for a little break. I have plans for my next build but, I won't be starting it until the new year.

The Shredder looks awesome. Not having the LEDs and veil probably is a blessing for trick-or-treating tonight anyway just for little-man's visibility. Have fun tonight you guys!

Thanks! Right again. I realized the same thing after I had made the choice not to include those aspects of the build. IF the suit still fits him by next summer for FanExpo 2019 I will do some upgrades and put that back into the build.
