Roll call Southerners (unofficial) Southern Regiment

Gotcha, I just reread the first few pages of the thread, so far it seems that we shouldn't modify colors on the original full color Logo, which is the one used for the full website, but the deconstructed ones which what I assume is the type we use for regiments are ok. It answers my question at any rate, thanks Demogorgon!

No problem! Pretty much, the only one you can change the color on is the black and white one, so long as it's all one color.

You can go ahead and put me down for Alabama. I'm less than five minutes away from Georgia, but since I live in Alabama right now I think I will just claim it.

I found sometime quickly this morning and started putting together the Convention list for the Regiment. Please help me out and let me know the conventions in your area you would attend. Representing the 405th and the Southern Regiment.

Uhhhh, I wouldn't call this the Southern regiment...

No matter how you cut it, all these states you have listed are in the South-East region of the U.S.

Here is the typical breakup of the U.S. in regions:

I'm fairly certain all of us have seen a map like this when we were in elementary school.

Now, in regards to the 405th here, I think we should probably break things up more into something like one of these:

In regards to the 1st of the 3 images, I think it might be best to further breakdown the Mountain Region into 2 sections, 1 being ID/MT/WY and the other being NV/UT/CO/AZ/NM, and I would consider possibly grouping KS/MO with OK/TX/AR/LA.

I got the list and the name from Art. I asked him about my region and he asked if It could include the states listed. And called it the Southern Region.

This is pretty damn close to stencil-ready. Just switch to a nice sharp stencil font and add a few bridges to the floating hexagons. Maybe switch the bottom tab text to just "4 0 5" and the top text to "Southern Reg." or something, depending on the font's aspect ratio / spacing.

AugmentedHuman013 add me to the Florida list. I spoke with Art and he gave us the okay to open a FB page but it has to be named "405th Southern Halo Costuming Regiment" and to please add him as an administrator. @Chefbzd & ShockWave are also from South Florida.

Looking forward to make this regiment official :)

If I could make one suggestion about the logo, which is pretty sweet looking, I wouldn't actually have the text 405th infantry division on it, keep it like the 405th main emblem...

I guess I am considered a southerner now...my grandma must be rolling in her grave, lol.

I am in the (not so) great state of Tennessee.

In regards to conventions there is Chattacon, Conooga, and Middle Tennesee Anime Convention (MTAC). There is also Geek Media Expo, which is supposed to be like a mini Dragon Con. I've actually never been to any of them except MTAC and that was the year of the great flood. lol. Oh, and East Tennessee State University's Anime Club puts on what they dub as a "mini-con", ETSUcon.

EDIT:

After Dragon Con, when I'm hopefully not so busy, I'll take a stab at that logo/icon.

Just sent an invite to the group. I don't think I have anyone from here as a friend on FB though. Maybe I wont get denied on my first attempt lol.
