I need to go buy some plywood.

And for Materials, use 4mm thick plywood and 12mm thick splint wood plates. (Splint plates are made of recycled wood splinters. Try searching at your local wood dealer.)
I will write a tutorial now as I post this.![]()
smick6 said:Hey V1p3r have you ever used MDF? You should check it out. Its super smooth on both sides, cuts like wood and paints really well after sealing. It might be usefull on your builds.
Keep up the good work it looks great.
HELL JUMPER said:thats funny last week i started building my wood and steel battle rifle.....damn and you beat me to it....competition competition.....haha
S1l3nt V1p3r said:Thanks Smick, your builds are awesome as well. ;D
MDF? Never heard of it. What does it stand for? And what kind of material is it?![]()
Do you have any progress pictures to show us?![]()
smick6 said:Medium density fiberboard. It is a wood based product. Its like super fine wood material with some sort of bonding agent that holds it together. I use it alot. I find it easier to build with. Alot of people use it in custom auto interiors, like for surrounds, cabinets and under door panels. One of the best parts about it is there is no grain. Most home improvement store carry it, but it depends were you are.
JSwift said:I think the stuff you're using is particle board. MDF is super compressed and really smooth. I could be wrong but that's what it looks like in the pics
S1l3nt V1p3r said:You are right. I am using MDF, but I did not realize that until now. :rolleyes
Time to edit the Tutorial!
