So who's looking forward to the Halo 4 soundtrack?

Can't help but fall in love with the music of Halo. I know it was a very brief clip, but I REALLY like the variation of the theme in the Halo 4 trailer. Very foreboding and can be foreshadowing the game

I'm very interested to hear it, as Marty wont be doing the work. Since Halo has won so many awards for Music i hope the FNG lol does a good job.

Yea, he used alot more electronic sounds with that one, but still utilized live performers. I really wish that they use an orchestra like he did for halo 3.

You sure about Halo:CE being on the far right? I'm thinking more on the FARRR left side. And to me reach is the closest Halo to recapture the Kick-ass-unique Orchestra music vibe that started at H:CE and started dropping off after H2.

There might be some nostalgia in that, but I've been playing CE PC and it sounds the same as I remember so I feel that;s not an issue.

Not that any one asked, but here's my ratings:

Halo 2 > Reach > Halo CE > ODST > Halo 3

I really didn't like the piano in 3. I aven't played ODST too often, but I know I don't hate it as much as I did Halo 3. I haven't played Wars at all or listened to the soundtrack, so I don't know where it belongs.

Halo 2 > Halo 3 > ODST > CE > Reach > Wars

And the only reason CE's so low on the list is because it was done with fairly low-quality midi synthesis. Redone with an orchestra, it outranks Halo 3.

That said, I would like to hear what Halo will sound like without Marty at the helm. (And not that Wars stuff)

I had my opinions about Reach being electronic, as that it was maybe a throwback to Halo CE and Halo 2 games, seing as Reach is a prequal to them.

I really enjoyed Halo 3: ODST soundtrack. Very good night time driving music

Word. I wasn't a big fan of the ODST score until I happened to listen to it while driving in the rain at night. Win! And now I like it much better.

My order would be:
Halo 3>Reach>ODST>Wars>Halo 2>CE
#3 is my favorite because it had all the familiar songs developed throughout the trilogy at their peak played by a true orchestra. Also a big fan of the piano.

I find CE the weakest because many tracks are just ambient noise and hardly music at all.
