ok so thats it for now gonna paint it up in a bit but I making the chest braces tonight they will be up soon

seya!

Very nice images, paint job looks fantastic! Whatever you plan to add will only make it even better if it's so good already :)

I've been wondering if you could give a few tips about using a dremel on foam...
My main problem is that the sanding drum gets wasted pretty fast, I've tried the 240 grit today and it's half killed after like 10 minutes of sanding.
I have a Dremel 300 and used the drums bundled with the tool... I guess they're cheap enough to buy a lot of replacements but I'd like to know if I'm doing something wrong ;)

Also, how would you drill something like a 1/2 inch diameter, shallow hole? If I try to use the aluminium oxide grinding stone it just runs around the piece...

BTW I honestly dont know how to give tips on how I do what I do lol. I developed what I know threw trial and error really. Just start off with a piece of foam and use different bits to get different results and take your time when building. Oh and the sanding drum I have a dremel 4000 so when the wheel gets low i turn up the speed lol untill its dead lol hope that helps some :/

Yeah, what I've found to work is actually about middle speed for small tweaks, it does what I need and the drum hasn't been wasted yet.

I'll try some bigger sanding work next week or so :) I also use the flexible cable attachment so it's a bit easier to hold it steady :)

*Update*

and thats it for now hopefully the helmet will be done by dragon con!
now I have to figure out a under suit -_-......

This looks pretty cool! Are you gonna scratch build the helmet from foam as well, or use the pepakura files?

Also, for the undersuit, look at this site I've found while looking for elbow/knee protectors:
http://www.mcdavidusa.com/ (it's offline for me right now...)
http://www.mcdavid.eu/ (has some better pictures)

They have all kinds of complete suits and separate pieces, and some of them even have hexa patterns that would work really well with your Halo4 armor. You could also add more detail using craft foam and whatever, the only thing is that these things cost some $$$ ;)

I cant say I have been a huge fan of the Halo 4 style armour, but this absolutely blew my mind: it looks amazing!!! Keep up the great work, cant wait to see it in its full :D

I wish I had saw this stuff sooner so I could have had time to order it lol I might still try and get it hear in time for dragon but thanks great find!

Had to add a OMG myself! Very inspiring thread with lots of eye candy. What you do as natural trial and error, we see as jaw dropping. Really love the smooth bevels on some of those pieces.

You know, not only is your work amazing (and I'm sad I didn't look into this thread until now) but you're making me like the Halo 4 armor! Your suit is something to be proud of. Great work!

Carry on Spartan!

(BTW Hyperballistik is the creator of the helmet)
