Spartan Medical Corps or Spartan Specialists Corps?

wow its been so long since i was on the forum.......im still gonna paint my spartan medic colors when i finish it up....did anyone else?

I've read the books as far as I know the Spartans don't have medical specialists, but they are trained in basic field medicine.
For the most part when someone was hurt the solution was spray them with biofoam and hope he survives evac. Then hope he survives until we can get him to a medical bay on a ship. Remember this is far in the future most of medicine is handled by machines.

However from the books some Spartans did specialize. Mostly it was demolition, sniping etc. I could see a Spartan or two specializing in dangerous recovery. In wars past one of the most dangerous jobs was the field medics who went out in the battle zone to recover wounded

I'd like to point out something that you guys might have overlooked. Spartans cost how much to train, augment, equip, etc? Someone give me a figure. I remember reading that it was enough to outfit a ship or some astronomical figure like that. The reason it is paid is because it was determined that what was to be gained outweighed what would be lost. Everything put towards the Spartan program was a calculated effort to make the greatest warriors mankind had ever seen. On the other hand, what does it take to be the best field surgeon that mankind has to offer? It isn't multi-trillion dollar battle armor. It isn't augmentations to make you run more quickly or hook your brain synapses to a computer. It takes years of studying and hard work to master the human anatomy and everything associated with it. That can be done without life changing surgical procedures and massive amounts of military funding. And even if you were humanity's greatest surgeon with multi-trillion dollar battle armor, will that battle armor make your patient with a bullet wound to the head heal any faster? Would it help you heal more patients at the same time? Could you somehow bypass the laws of medicine simply because you are more expensive?

It's like the old comparison between teachers and athletes. People argue that teachers should be paid as much as athletes because their work is more important. While that may be true (it isn't, but that debate is for another day), basically any joeblow can be a teacher, but it takes someone truly special to become an athlete. In that same regards, almost any joeblow can be a field medic, but it takes someone truly special to become a Spartan.

So, long story short, all Spartans would be trained in emergency field medicine as Special Forces types usually are, but trillions of dollars would not be spent to make super medics that could only heal as fast and as many patients as regular field medics could tend to.

Hey guys, I just wanted to say that the Marine Corps (actual Marine Corps) is listed under the department of the Navy. That is why they have Navy Corpsman. This is also why Marines provide security for Navy installations, Ships, subs etc etc. While it is it's own branch, it is still part of the Navy. That being said, a Marine is a Marine and a Sailor is a Sailor. Just thought I would throw that in there. Cool idea you guys have here though.

dude its just an idea. you dont have to compare it to the financials of the UNSC. we just thought it would be something cool for the forum to do

I think everyone is pointing out that this will be way out of Cannon. But I think the logo is cool. If you want to go for it go ahead

no i know what you mean i was talkiing about templar, but yeah they only did have bio foam. what i was thinking is that the medics would have advanced medkits as opposed to just biofoam

Sorry if I sounded a little critical there. I did not mean to step on your idea, but I just wanted to point out the errors in Cannon. I think the logo you designed is really cool and I look forward to seeing it emblazoned on your armor.

I remember since Halo 3 came out my spartan has always been desert tan with the red + on him. Still is. I just like the color and I like the medic spartan idea. Why wouldn't you want an invincible medic on your team. I mean, who helps the medic if he gets hurt...? You definately would need a lot of backup medics. When my spartan gets done he will definately have alot of Medical based addons, because my dad works at a plant that makes giant 800ml syringes 3 inches around (no needles, which makes it nice and safe), and all of the syringes in a defective package cant be sold (for sanitation reasons). Then they give them to me.

sick dude. it would be cool if we could get this to more people

I wonder how much it would be for people that cant get them for free? I was actually contemplating peping a whole bunch of "what if" and "fanfiction" category medical equipment. If you guys have any concept art we could all decide if its plausible or Halo-ish enough, and then make it happen. I actually have a few good ideas. One was a hydraulic "backpack lift" so a spartan can carry another spartan on their back facing backwards. It would have a forklift like lift and such attached to a metal plate on the back of the medical spartan, and instead of forks it would have clamps like that of the jetpack to hold a spartan, (or ODST). I ahve a few more but i wont ruin it. I might even make a template to scratchbuild some of those syringes.

that actually sounds really cool, and i would wear that as a spartan and everyone would be like oh what is that? and i would be like, i carry people out but i kinda got like an image like this from it:

I totally just made a thread for pepakura files and your horribly drawn ideas. By the way I already put up my lift thing on that thread as a "comprehendable" design sketch. Anyway im starting on the 3D models because i think everyone wants them.
