Just thought I'd point out that the piece in question is attached to the faceplate. Here's a screen grab from the movie:

Obviously that's the Mark II faceplate, but the Mark III is the same.

Yes, but if you look at a high def picture of that you would realize that the black piece isn't physically attached to the mask, it is attached by wire.

I gotta say I'm very proud of the way my files are coming along. I am at the legs right now but ky camera is broken. Can't wait to finish this build. Lookin good superman. I'll meet you at the finish at the end of december.

translated it for yeah

Full movie trailer Iron Man 2 (Iron Man 2) yet, but there is something else. Today magazine EMPIRE shared with all the cover and one page of the January issue, on which adorn Tony Stark (Tony Stark / Iron Man) in the armor Mark IV (Mark IV Armor):

Wait, it's also not all. We also have for you a large portion of the promo art for the film, which you can see the armor Mark VI (Mark VI), the official logo of the film, the first promo Warriors (Jim Rhodes / War Machine) in all its glory, and much more. Enjoy:

i dont know i wonder if it real if you look at the drawings the mk Iv and the mk VI are almost identical

EDIT: others have posted about this magazine

I just saw the trailer for Iron Man 2 that was promo'd during Comic Con....and Oh...my....sweet...god....it is epic. The suit that was shown looked almost identical to the mk 3 that you guys are building..and doing a damn fine job. However...I am very excited..to say that War Machine is shown..ill admit its dark as hell...but the suit is a completely new design than any of the other pics I have seen before. Im so excited for this movie!! And just so you know...you guys are nailing this suit. If you keep up this level of detail you will have an amazing suit to be damn proud of!

Edit: Those art pictures you found are pretty much dead on to what the War Machine looks like in the trailer. Also the new MK 4 suit or whatever in those pics. If you look close its identical to the mk 3..it just has a triangular chest piece.

I appreciate the compliments. its a good bit of work, but like i said so many times before, it will be well worth it.

EDIT: Though on a side note stark i hope yeah dont give out of the files you did an amazing job an sure took a heck alot of time.

Hey guys. I was wondering If this Helmet file( I believe it is Dungbeetle's) is an ok ting to do for a beginner. I'm really interested in having an Iron Man helmet, not so much a Halo one. But if you suggest that I should not take on this file as a beginner, I will start with something easier. Sorry if I'm putting the thread off topic. By the way, great work, really looking forward to the finished project. Has anyone been able to get the automated flip up faceplate blueprints from Masterle? Because I think that would be a great addition to your suit.

I second the use of the dungbeetle helmet. Its only complicated due to the number of pieces, but in correspondence, the pieces link up just like any other pep file. It will just take you more time. As far as the faceplate, we have our own method sepparate from masterle.

that must have just been released today i was just looking earlier in the day. It looks close to what shark posted with the concept art

Yep..I just had a nerd-gasm....That poster just made my whole year that much better. I never thought it would be so beautiful..*sniffle*

Hey, I'm a beginner as well and felt the same way about the iron man vs halo armor. I'm working on dungbeetles helmet and even tho it's my first pepakura ever it's not hard at all. You just have to take your time with it. The pepakura part is the easy part, the body work later on is what takes more effort to get it all nice looking. hope this helps and good luck!
