That's the part. That the Hot Toys replica?

Might try to pick one up in Malaysia next time I'm over there.

Loving the new work! It was about time for some new updates! Personally, I really want to see how those boots come out and get my fingers on those files!

On an unrelated note; Anybody know what happened to Starx?

It will look better than latex too, if done appropriately. The abdomen appears to have a forward facing set and a set for lateral motion that ate joined together. Getting them right will be a pain, but the result will be closer to how this would be done in real life. Gl, I want to see the results.

Great job guys!! I too want to make an entire armor out of pepakura but I can't seem to find a high detailed one. I guess I'll have wait until you guys release the files :D . I started on the helmet which dungbeetle created, I didn't resize it and fits me (I guess I have a small head), below are some pitctures of the job I did. Well I'll be keeping up with this thread and I look forward to more of your progress!

pepakura finished

resined and fiberglass finished

first body filler step (probably gonna do a few more layers to get it nice and smooth)

heres an update, I've completed the entire right arm section:

-Shoulder bell

-Bicep

-Forearm

I have the old set on the left arm to compare...also cause it looks badass sitting there like that ;)

I am going to stick with the Starx's arm model.

But im back. and ill have something to post up in a few days that will probably get the creative JUICES flowing..haha.. and now its crunch time for me. i have one month to finish the rest of the suit. Hey guys.

I thought I'd put this info in our actual build thread aswell

After doing some research on Compression Articulation used in armors from way back when.

especially here:

http://www.carmelemanuel.com/Compression.htm

It has helped me plan out how I will go about doing certain parts that need Compression Articulation to move freely without restriction.

The technique will be implemented with the fallowing areas

its a very good technique.

I don't think this will be too hard to incorporate in the build. A lot easier as well since it will be in plastic and not Metal.

and would save me the trouble casting those kind of parts than need flexing with an unfamiliar material like latex that I have no experience in at the moment

hope this helps anyone out who was wondering about those certain areas

That's a really cool way armor those problem areas. The only snag I see is that the examples on that website were for metal armor (no paint). You now have to solve the problem of the paint getting rubbed off when the joint moves.

If it can be done though, it would make for some bad a$$ armor.

How about molding something out of rubber for these parts?

Your arc reactor looks legit. Any sneak peaks on how you made that sucker? Just curious what route you went with it. The suit looks awesomeage. Keep it up! Hope my suit even resembles the shadow on the ground of your armor I would be happy hahaha. Keep it real my friends!!

Looks good, I'd also like to see what goes into an arc reactor. Having one in sure does make that mannequin look legit hough.
