[Straps] I need your help quickly!

So, I'm making an ODST armor (link in my signature) and I must finish it before the 4th september for a competition. And I have a problem: the straps. I already bought a lot of straps with clips but I don't know how to make in order to have the best result.
Do you have a solution?

But my big problem is that I don't know where to put the stripes in order to have a good result
