How do you mean expensive ?
i mean i have 5 suits to build , and five people , i got a KVK number , so i'll get a discount , especially on buying it in bigger amounts ,
do you know what the dutch plasti-dip product is called?

Hey,

some guys from the netherlands :p
Where do you live and where in the hell did you get that foam?
how much did it cost?

please let me know I am searching for foam in the Netherlands for weeks! :p
thanks already and good luck with your armors!

You got a KvK number? jealous.... I found some kind of miniature building webshop where they sell it. I recommend using the spray)aka that's what everyone else's using):
This site:

Edit: @Bram You could try abchobby.nl, Search for foam and take the 6mm variant (i had 20mm foam mats, dont go for that)

Hey ,
TOFT , was the store , it's located in ''Hillegom''
its specialized in furniture , but also sells this foam , what they use for flightcases .

its about one thumb thick , so i'm not sure if it's perfect .
they probably have run out of stock , but it can be ordered ,
i'll try tomorrow if this foam works.

and Bob , do you have the product name of the foam ?
seem to be fetting ''foamies'' characters 2mm thisck , i don't think that is what you mean :p

Nice to see Dutchies on the forum !
Happy Buildin' !

DON'T expect much . . .

This is a quick sculpt ,
with only a knife ,
10 minutes of my time
No pep file , only a loosely hand-drawn layout
and i know , i didn't do the edges nicely ,
this was just for Teasting out the foam !
-Thickness - a tad too thick
-Weight - wow , the suit , without paint would be like 2 kilo's
-Slicing - easy.

Hmm. . . Let's go search for other foam !
( this might be good for huge pieces , like filling so it's more sturdy or something )

Anyways , Good night ,
And Happy Buildin' !

I have found foam of 3 mm thick but that doesn't work great
I think the 6 mm would be nice but A4 seems a bit small
Because the nice thing of foam is that you can create stuff with bigger and fewer parts then with Pep

so I am going to search in a camping store or something see if they got like sleeping things from foam?
If any dutch guy finds some nice foam for not to much money please let me know!

good luck on your armors!

nice , i'll look into it !
got some really nice printable '' cardboard''
if we change our mind and want to do some pep .

the 6mm seems a little thin indeed. . .
isn't there something like 10-15mm ?
as you said the 20mm was too thick . . .

after spending like 15 hours together with ilse and another friend of mine on ODST , we came to the conclusion ,
ODST is kinda . . . like vista.
an upgrade , but it sucks.

think i'll print some foam today , assembling tomorrow.

Well, 20 mm is what everyone else uses, but i think its a litlle lumpy,
i saw a guy(theHeroTutorials/stealth) and he uses 1/4 inch foam, which is about 6mm, and i l9ike his stuff, so i'll give it a shot

Well , please tell us how it works for you !
ATM i only have the 20mm , and it's not enough ,
so i'm kinda browsing around !
Happy Buildin' !

There have been some . . . . complications . . .
sorry if this is disappointing ,
but when you do such a thing as a team build , remember people can get in fights , if one person cant work , its kind of stuck.
now with us all in the same class , it should have been easy but literally no-one takes initiative ,
i mean our ''Kat'' was talking about it the other day , when we should begin , then i asked if she started even looking at foam and the conversation died.
so . . .
i WILL finish this , even if i will have to do this alone ,
i've had many greater than this , so that wont be a problem , the timeline just isnt correct anymore ,
itis also because we are Very busy with school , most of the time i actually go to bed after dinner , because i have to wake up at six , and most of the time , i'm back around 7 in the evening , kinda demotivating .
i WILL really be finishing this , dont consider this project dead yet ,
i have been doing some testing with foam again , trying to get the right thing together .
if anyone has an idea to get over this annoying time issue , please tell me , because i'm kinda running out of ideas. . .
405th is , well i think its one of the most awesome websites out there , and i'm really trying to make this work . . .
