Ok I didnt want to start a new topic for this. So il post it here. My friends 360 just got red ringed, on his new 360 the disk tray wasnt chrome, but the same colour as the 360 itself? Is there a specific reason for this or no?

Without chrome I believe is the arcade version. If he's still got a harddrive and the backwards compatibility, then it doesn't really matter and maybe they just used the spare part/tray.

I'm lookin into getting a 360 myself for the sheer awesomeness of xbox live. My Wii has been fun, but I want better multiplayer capabilities and much better graphics. About all those issues and problems with the solder joints and the like, any confirmation on the fixing of that in the new units? I keep reading that they WILL fix it this year in the units released, so I'm definitely buying a 360, just need to know when to hold off until.
