Hello everyone! It's been a long time since I've participated in a forum, but I think it's time to document my progress in another place that isn't just random posts on the 405th Discord. I've always wanted to have an 'armor' type of cosplay, and Halo has been an enormous impact on my life. From the first time I played Halo 2 online, to the midnight release of Halo 3, to beating the campaign the day after, the countless nights of Custom Games, and the myriad of friends across the world I've made, this series really holds dear to me! I'm looking forward to joining all my armored comrades in arms soon enough. But like with any new undertaking, there's going to be a lot of hurdles and obstacles that I'll have to overcome, both from a personal growth and learning experience perspective. I hope you'll enjoy this crazy journey with me!
I'm still working on the 'character' details of the ODST I'm creating, but the basic theme I'm going for is a medical specialist. The kind of guy you want making sure the rest of the squad is still ready to fight and keep moving! Medkits and supplies on hand, he'll keep you on your feet to make it home.
The general philosophy I've had when making costumes is making them well enough that only one person is needed to put it together. Unfortunately, this sort of thing doesn't really come with blue prints or a pre-made design. And I'm not one to really write down all my thoughts in my head. But maybe with this forum, I'll journal and detail the process better for the future! I'd also love any inputs from the community. To start, these pictures are from my first 3D prints using an AnkerMake M5. (Do not get this printer.) For the most part, the prints came out clean, but this fledgling 3D Printer (Myself) has a Lot to learn! From plastic welding and gluing, there's a long road ahead still.
The Main Armor and Helmet set files are from Galactic Armory's ODST Rookie Set!
